i'm not a hater of the band, but i do think a monkey could write better lyrics than they do. songwriting is definitely not their forte

Interesting info on the name of the band:

They called themselves "Nickleback" because after their first performance all the patrons demanded their nickels back.

Never liked Creed. There's always that band, you know? When I was in high school it was Matchbox20, then Creed, now Nickelback.

Matchbox 20 was never sucky like Creed or Nickelback. Their music wasn't all the same, and their music actually evolved throughout every album they put out. The song writing got better every album too.

I took my wife to see a Nickelback concert that I won tickets to. The warm up bands were Seven Mary 3 and Jerry Cantrell (AIC lead guitarist). Jerry Cantrell BLEW Nickelback off the stage. It wasn't even close. The only good thing about it was when he got Josie Scott from Saliva to come up and do Hero with him (since he was in Memphis where Saliva hails from) It was akin to the time I saw BB King, who let Buddy Guy warm up for him. Not even in the same ballpark.

You might be interested in a band called Tabitha's Secret. That was the band Rob Thomas was in before Matchbox 20. They did 3am originally.

I would have killed 1,000 small babies to see BB and Buddy Guy play.:) I love blues and stuff with some soul.

That's where I get my nick. Nothing to do with any sports team. I love the blues. You definitely would have enjoyed this one. John Hiatt was the first up. He was good. Buddy Guy was SMOKIN' as usual. BB was good, too. It was a fun day.
