Are you serious? We have Jake here already and George, who's a stud, coming in 25 and the number 1 player, in the country, committed for 26 who also happens to be a QBI don't know what Nico's NIL amount actually is, but the rumors are huge. Is he still worth tying up a large percentage of NIL $ and/or does that make it more difficult to get a solid backup/replacement when he's gone?
Gotta hope Matthews and Staley develop a lot over the offseason. We simply lack speed at receiver. Also have had a lot of bad drops. Probably the most disappointing unit of the seasonNico will definitely be much better next year. I think he could be one of the nations best QBs next year. My only worries are the WRs and especially the center position. Our WRs have to get better. And replacing Coop is going to be HUGE for the offense next year.
I think we blew an opportunity to pull off that road game, but I did predict 10-2 in another thread. Ark just replaced my Bama loss is all. I'm not disappointed in the GA game or the season, but we had a sleeper we could have stolen. My only criticism is that though Nico is a Freshman in an SEC schedule he has shown no significant uptick from game 1 to game 10. Not looking for miracles, but there should be a noticeably different QB right now 10 games in verses early season. Even for a freshman. A quality freshamn to boot.Goodness, we lose to a potential national championship team in their house in a night game, and a large contingent is ready to burn down the entire program and replace everyone.
This place is crazyville. A psychologist would have a field day on here.
Maybe I’m too much of an optimist, but I think the short term and long term future is very bright for Nico and Volunteer football.
Yep. We got some good QB's on the way. If they don't flip, and if they take their redshirt to create a gap with the QB in front of them. And if they stay to develop and take their turn and not portal out. So, there's that. Not sure what the tone of this question is, but the ‘25 is George Macintyre and the ‘26 is Faizon Brandon.

I disagree completely on Nico. He is playing much better over the past 3-4 games.
It is no crime to lose at Georgia.
I think you left out reading some of my posts. I'm by no means down on Nico. We are 10-2 with a freshman, and a fairly underperforming O in conference play. My only point on him specifically is that I don't think he's where I would have expected after 10 games. And as I questioned earlier, is that the coaches? You guys are amazing. Nico played better than anyone outside of Sampson and ran for his life most of the night in Athens. Was it good enough ? Probably not however some guys failed to do their job that contributed but by all means keep harping on Nico.
He has grown, did you not see him use his legs? Did you not see him protect the ball ? The fumble at the end was nothing more than trying to make a desperation play running for his life. You are also not looking at what he's actually working with and expect him to make miracles happen with 0 comfort in the pocket and wr he doesn't trustI think we blew an opportunity to pull off that road game, but I did predict 10-2 in another thread. I think it's a combo of Halze and not trusting the WR's seeing what he is he does. I think he will be a very good qb of we can keep him upright and get him some real weapons. Thornton and Bru are all he has really with a side of Squirrel but none have been reliably open. I will say if we had a wr the caliber of Tate or Williams Nico looks a lot different but we do not.I think you left out reading some of my posts. I'm by no means down on Nico. He's been pretty even, with better outings against KY & MSST. The * would be MSST cause that was only 2 quarters and would prob have been his best game of season. The best stat being a freshman is the INT column. To re-iterate, I'm not a Nico basher. I think the kid is a real talent, and exceptionally poised. He was standing tall in collapsing pockets when seniors would have crapped their jock strap. And we're still 10-2. I just don't see where the coaching on him has paid off on incremental progression. And that would not be on him.I disagree completely on Nico. He is playing much better over the past 3-4 games.

And if you have seen any of my other posts in these threads this season, you would already know I have been highly critical of an underperforming starting receiver corp that have done nico no favors. Maybe some due to injury, but tons of easy drops when he did make the throws. We're long overdue to see what the others got and if their hungry. Making tough decisions is part of coaching. I've never said this was all Nico. And anything that is Nico is more on the coaches being a freshman. My whole point is that with the talent he does have, I'd say Lane Kiffien would be showcasing an entirely different QB at this point in the season than the game 1 freshman.I think it's a combo of Halze and not trusting the WR's seeing what he is he does. 9/21 is when Nico was doing well and they pull the ball from him. I believe that caused a few small issues for him to question himself. The 3 blow out games did nothing for him as he and his wr were never able to find that groove. He had to do that against SEC teams and are still figuring it out. For the life of me we need MM and Staley to be on the fieldHe's been pretty even, with better outings against KY & MSST. I'd agree with that. Starting 3 have been frustrating this year. How the heck is McCoy rarely open to begin with.9/21 is when Nico was doing well and they pull the ball from him. My apologies. I agree that Halze hasn't done Nico any favors. Hopefully Heupel spends more time with Nico. I believe Halze over coaches him and the WR have been terrible. Possible need for replacement on staff for that room. I believe they are talented but they are not responding to the leader there. And yes I believe Kiffin gets the most out of his QB and WRAnd if you have seen any of my other posts in these threads this season, you would already know I have been highly critical of an underperforming starting receiver corp that have done nico no favors. Well, if we can't coach up that kind of talented QB to look different over a 10 game run on average, then what do we plan on doing with Mercklinger, and those two hot shots coming in '25 & '26.My apologies. Thornton is the top producing WR on the roster this year.I'm not as worried about OL...think we'll hit the portal hard on them. Will do so w/ WRs too, but disappointing that guys like Thorton didn't excel this year. As good as our OL has been on run blocking, in big matchups, our pass protection has been suspect, which hasn't helped. Just don't understand why Matthews hasn't seen the field more...hope he doesn't get frustrated and transfer. Think we need some real speed guys, as our "big body" WRs generally just haven't gotten separation. TE's have been a nice wrinkle add to the pass game though.
I'm not sure what plans are honestly. I believe in Heupel but we have some weakness on staff. OC/QB, WR and OL imo when looking around and seeing what others are getting done. Not sure all of them have to change but I would start with OLWell, if we can't coach up that kind of talented QB to look different over a 10 game run on average, then what do we plan on doing with Mercklinger, and those two hot shots coming in '25 & '26.
