Nico Iamaleava should get substantial play time against UGA. He's earned it.

The reason I'm excited about next season is our qb Nico. He's already found the game. You know how the game came to Manning early on? The game came to Hooker. The game is finally coming to Dobbs. He finally caught up to it and is playing like he did in college. Nico I think is already there. When a UGA fan (grad) questions why we don't let him play I have to scratch my head. Milton is good but he never obtained that status on a consistent basis.

When Georgia is winning by 30 plus you will see Nico. Milton will start and get the majority of snaps unless we blow out Vandy and our bowl opponent all the way thru the bowl game.

You're dreaming. No way Heupel will "discard" Milton for Nico at this point. The season is all but in the books. He's a player's coach and kids like that about him. Why make the move now? I think the plan has always been the plan. Just ride Milton this year with all those seniors and protect what you have in Nico. Play him here and there. Get him reps in practice. Grow him physically and mentally at a comfortable pace. Preserve a redshirt in case our bad luck with injuries doesn't change and we lose him to an injury. Same for all the youth on the roster. Will that lack of experience come back and bite us next season? Probably, but next year was never going to be a championship caliber run/roster regardless. We'd still be in a position of struggling to get 7 wins next year. All speculation on my part, but nothing else makes any better sense to me.

Unless it’s a UCONN or Virginia beatdown against Vandy and our bowl opponent then we ain’t seeing Nico. Even if is Georgia is winning 41-10 going into the 4th I fully expect Heup will play Milton all the way till the end.

Kirby didn’t have any issues running a corner blitz in the last minute of a game where Maurer was QB for the first time and he was basically decleated. Why put him out there unnecessarily for Kirby to throw all sorts of obscure blitzes at him to get either hurt or maybe even worse, his confidence hurt ? UGA hasn’t lost a game in several years. Don’t just roll this kid out there for the helluva it.

Anyone who thinks Nico will automatically solve all our problems need a huge reality check.
They're going to get it next year even if everyone comes back. The O will still be a work in progress, especially the OL. The young talent is promising, but desperately needs to develop. I do think Nico will be better than Joe, especially on reading his progressions and making accurate throws down field. The OL needs a really stellar offseason.

No, they will leave Joe in the whole game against Georgia no matter how it goes, just like they did at Missouri. Nico can only play one more game and keep his redshirt. They are saving him for garbage time after we pull away from Vandy.

We’re going to have to hit the portal hard for the O Line. That is need #1. If we lockdown some major positions of need on the line I think we are a CFP contender. Like you said, we do need some guys to grow up in a hurry too.

That's my take on this to. Heup has made Joe his QB project and I believe expected big things from him this season. He won't bench him except for mop-up duty.

Now, I believe Joe is just an above avg QB, not great- not bad, but in Joe's defense, losing Bru hurt because that was his go to receiver and just as he was getting comfortable with Thorton he goes down. I don't see Sat being a fun day for the orange side.

Last loss was December 2021 to Bama yea it’s been awhile since they have lost. They will have 30 straight wins when play Bama again in two weeks, they still gotta ways to go to break Oklahoma’s 50 plus game win streak in the 50’s but are you going to doubt them right now and who can beat them? Georgia has lost exactly 3 times since the 2020 season they are absolute machine right now and sadly I don’t see many if any weaknesses on that team.
