Nico Iamaleava should get substantial play time against UGA. He's earned it.

I don't think we see Nico in the Georgia game... HOWEVER... I think they should potentially throw him in there for a series or two to let him get the feel for that type of game.

Whatever gives us the best chance to win first however... then plan next best option
They wont

No, he should not have his first start against GA. He might do well, or he might lose a ton of confidence. GA’s D may not be what it has been, but I seriously doubt Nico is ready for it at the moment. I think it would be dumb to put him through that. Let him go through the off season and start those warmup games next season and he will be ready to roll.

So ya gotta ask the Big Q: What if our QB gets hurt? Which one would you rather lose, Joe or Nico Suave?

The reason I'm excited about next season is our qb Nico. He's already found the game. You know how the game came to Manning early on? The game came to Hooker. The game is finally coming to Dobbs. He finally caught up to it and is playing like he did in college. Nico I think is already there. When a UGA fan (grad) questions why we don't let him play I have to scratch my head. Milton is good but he never obtained that status on a consistent basis.
Nico will get his first start during our second bowl game this year or the first game next year. One of those two I absolutely guarantee.

If Jerry Colquitt doesn’t blow his knee out first series, Peyton redshirts and goes into the next Spring competing with Branndon Stewart. It took Todd Helton getting dinged for him to emerge as the starter and there were myriad struggles before he solidified his status. You don’t engineer that ON PURPOSE. No way they throw Nico out there against a certified meat processor unless it’s an emergency, and then expect a scaled down offense with whatever serves as max protect. Mebbe the majority of the game against Vandy…Harrison Bailey beat them.

If I’m a top flight quarterback prospect and the program recruiting me shelves their starter at the end of the season due to the whims of their fanbase? I’m shelving them as an option.

The whole staff has proven they will play loyal upperclassmen over talented youngsters.

Example: Ollie Lane just keeps getting blown up.
Yea? you seen the rest of them practice huh? Awesome! maybe you should apply to be a GA. Or... or... or... i have a better idea. Hear me out. Call into the weekly call in show on Wednesday and ask him why hes showing Loyalty to less talented seniors over more talented freshman.

Can you imagine the meltdown when Nico throws his first overthrown ball?
“Merklinger time as I foretold! And pray for Jared Curtis to reclassify.”

“Guarantano 2.0”
“No wonder he couldn’t beat out Milton”
“Fahr Heupel!”
“When do we see Merklinger?”
Its almost tempting to make a list of names i can tag, that way everytime he throws the ball i can tag them in it asking their opinion. lmao.

how has Nico earned it? especially SUBSTANTIAL playing time?

we may need him to have a chance, or just for a better possible future, but thats not guaranteed either. but nothing posted has said he has earned it.

My favorite card is the you should be a coach card.

It doesn't take a coach to see that Ollie Lane is getting manhandled all night long. Or Tank McCullough getting left behind in coverage and also whiffing on his gap in the run game.

You wont. We were losing by 30+ to Mizzou and he never sniffed the field.
ugh, what?

final was 36-7, that's 29 points. and they scored 14 of those in the 4th. we had 7 points in the second quarter.

what game were you watching where we were losing by 30+ for long enough to justify putting in a freshman?

we got are butt kicked up and down their field, but some of yall play it up beyond what it even was.

6 Mins left in the 4th Qtr Joe throws a pick 6. That sealed the game. at that Point we were technically down "30" 1 point isnt gonna make a difference when we are getting taken to the woodshed. But going back to what you said. At that point we "Should have seen Nico" but we didnt. So with that taken into consideration, CJH will ride with Milton the whole game. Even if we are down 40+. Thats his guy.

I don't think at the time, he thought he was signing with UT to be back qb on a team that's possibly 8-4 after Saturday.
