Nico Iamaleava should get substantial play time against UGA. He's earned it.

It will be ok for the first few but it will be “because Heupel didn’t get him enough experience in 2023” 🙄
That's what I expect to see posted but since I've also seen post like along the lines of if Nico was starting we would've won the game then he shouldn't need the experience. He's better than Joe and ready to go day 1🫢

personally i dont think we should risk Nico's health for the next two years he is here. especially if he has aspirations of playing in the NFL.

Its almost tempting to make a list of names i can tag, that way everytime he throws the ball i can tag them in it asking their opinion. lmao.
LOL I've seen people do that on reddit using the remind me feature hahah

I really feel bad for Nico. Not because of the lack of playing time this season; but for the INSANE amount of expectations for the kid. Heaven help him if he struggles early next season.
He is expected to be the savior of this program and the second coming of Peyton and to lead us seamlessly into the 12 team playoff. Is he even 19 years old yet?
Good gosh people, let the process play out and don’t place too many hopes on the guy. It’s not fair to him
I bet this kid has been dealing with crazy expectations for years. The kid got paid a ton of money to play high school football. That doesn’t come without expectations, even for a kid, fair or not.

Maybe against Vanderbilt if we score enough, but there’s not much of a reason to play Nico against Georgia. The season is decided at this point. Bowl eligible and it won’t be a NY6, let Milton finish out for his loyalty and get ready for next year.

I just hope that the stadium is still mostly full for Vanderbilt. It will be my sons first live game at Neyland and I’d like him to get the experience.

Good Night. No. Nico is probably a big reason we'll go 7-6 or 8-5 next year. QB's, even great ones, usually don't come in and play lights out. We moved to TN from Huntington, WV (home of Marshall University). In the 90's Chad Pennington (future Jets QB and Heisman Finalist) threw 6 pics his first full game. SIX!!!!!

I promise you Nico will do dumber things next year than you ever saw Milton do this year and will probably throw double the pics.

It is absolutely crazy to me how fans want to give up on a (this) season that is ALREADY better than or equal to 11 (73%) of the past 15 years of TN football. Y'all have lost your minds!!!!! Never happy.

The absolute best way to get to 10-3 or 9-4 (which would be a really solid year) is with Milton.

The reason I'm excited about next season is our qb Nico. He's already found the game. You know how the game came to Manning early on? The game came to Hooker. The game is finally coming to Dobbs. He finally caught up to it and is playing like he did in college. Nico I think is already there. When a UGA fan (grad) questions why we don't let him play I have to scratch my head. Milton is good but he never obtained that status on a consistent basis.

This is what I mean last week when I anointed Volnation as the winner of Most Schizophrenic Fanbase.

Last week, prior to Mizzou, the debate was over whether Milton had turned the corner and whether he could be a first rounder.

This week, he's back to garbage again.

If you're an NFL QB scout, Joe looks damn good.

He earned it, how?
We better hope he's close to his hype.
It makes me wonder, since he's hardly got on the field.
Yeah, yeah Josh just too loyal to Milton..... 🤞

What exactly are you basing this on? We have not seen anything from Nico in a college game that would make us think, "he has found the game." He had one good series vs UConn. That's it.

If anything, it seems like he has not proven himself in practice even enough to get put in to close out a game where the Vols are getting blown out. Here's hoping he is the 2nd coming of Peyton Manning. But, he has not shown himself to be that guy yet. And don't start with the 5 star comments. How'd the last 5 star QB turn out here at UT?

I watched Condredge as a soph and Peyton as a true freshman. Don't care how good a QB prospect is thought to be, there's a mandatory learning curve that you only get in live action. Nico will most certainly have ups and downs next season. Might get a glimpse of the future about this time next year, but I won't be surprised if it's not until his second season a a starter that we see him take that next step.

The game moves a heck of a lot faster than it did in Condredge’s and Peyton’s day too. Especially in Heupel’s offense you have maybe five seconds to look over the defense, predict what they are going to do, and make sure you know your resulting decision tree. Hendon could, Joe struggles, with Nico time will tell.

Tell the truth. You also thought Thorton was going to come in and be an All-American right off the bat, right?
