Nico out of the game

He coulda’ gone back in if this wasn’t miss state.

Glad to get Gaston some meaningful work, and am very impressed with what I saw !

Heupel just said it was precautionary and Nico should play next week
NEVER believe a word that man says about player availability. He has intentionally misled in the past. He always says “should be” at the start of the week then sometimes says “he wasn’t available” at the end. He is throwing smokescreens until Nico is fully cleared.

Another reason that Heupel is a great coach. Rather than risk his starting qb, he knew that Moore could manage the game so he held Nico out. Not only that, he stayed aggressive and Moore played pretty good.

I really don’t think he’d straight up lie about such a thing. If Nico was actually injured it would be pretty disrespectful for Josh to use him as a pawn to throw Georgia off. If he didn’t anticipate Nico playing next week I think he would’ve used a different set of words. Just my opinion.

I’ll believe it when I see it. If he has a concussion like rumored, he’s not playing vs Georgia.

He told us he expected Tillman to play for like 6 straight weeks back in 2022 when he was out for so long.

Rumor from connected source is concussion protocol. They tested at halftime after he said he had bad headache from the end of the half play where he got hit in the helmet.
I went back and watched from when the injury supposedly happened. The next play he ran to the side and threw a pass that was incomplete(on receivers hands). Then TN got the ball back with like 18 seconds and he made another good pass.

So his body itself seemed to be operating fine, and he didn’t act like something was bothering him(not grabbing or grimacing). So the concussion thing makes more sense. From my experience with 2 concussions, the worse/bad one I had it lasted about a week. I know each concussion is different depending on the severity, and everyone reacts different of course. But hoping it’s quick passing if true, for his health, and because we clearly need him. It’s been on my mind all season that we don’t have a solid back up plan behind him. GM is a senior that decided to stay again knowing a freshman was going to beat him out, so clearly he himself didn’t feel like he could fill the role or he should have gone elsewhere.
