Nico out of the game

He’s probably sensitive to light. That can happen with a concussion
After rewatching the last drive of 1st half I believe it’s a right shoulder injury after the 3rd and 4 incomplete pass where he gets hit as he’s releasing the ball. Body language as he’s going to the sideline reads right shoulder or maybe elbow

NEVER believe a word that man says about player availability. He has intentionally misled in the past. He always says “should be” at the start of the week then sometimes says “he wasn’t available” at the end. He is throwing smokescreens until Nico is fully cleared.
He can't really do that with the new injury reports. Can only hide it for a few days

Actually Nico is big from the waist down. Arms are skinny though.

I thought his shoulder/body language was the concerning part last night. I figured shoulder sprain or similar. His shoulder got planted under his body very hard at the end of the 1st half. He could have gotten a concussion on that play. Concussions don't have to be caused by monster hits.

I have had many concussions over the years. The way he was walking in that video clip made me think concussion at first, but after thinking about it, he was probably under a heavy dose of painkillers in that clip of Nico walking with his parents down on the field.

I'll be surprised if Nico plays next week.
Gaston Moore looks fine running the offense to me. He is a competent backup. I like that he never looks lost. Most backups come in and I can read their body language to know if the offensive playbook is open or closed. The playbook is open for Gaston Moore. It tells me Coach Heupel thinks he is a real QB.

I actually felt the rest of the offense had confidence in him. He has a twitchy throwing arm that must frustrate defenders. It's almost a pump fake, but he moves his elbow when he checks down each receiver across the field. His deep pass is at least as good as Nico's. I personally think GM's deep pass is better.

This is good news about Nico. He has had a good year and do believe the players see him as the leader of the offense, so his presence will be calming.

However, Mr. Moore better keep his arm warm.........

I think Nico will play next week. He was supposedly injured on the 2nd to last drive in the 1st half, but he played the following drive and was on the money with a tough throw to get us in field goal range (the throw itself was ~25 yards of real distance and on a rope). He doesn’t make that kind of throw with a bum shoulder or collar bone injury, so it’s most likely a concussion. His eyes do seem very wide in the closer shots of him we see in his last few plays on the field.
