Just curious if anyone else here suffers from them. Me, my dad, and my youngest son all have them. I started getting them around the age of 10 and I will have at least 4 or 5 a week.
They are usually always the same. I hafe awaken to see and feel Brown Recluse spiders all over me or wake up seeing Grey Aliens all around me.
Make sure to seek therapy. I have no idea the horrors you must have seen. Thank you for your service sir no bs.
I was a paramedic for a number of years and without therapy and my family I don't think I would be here now.
Yeah stress is a main trigger. I have also suffered from chronic insomnia since I was a teen also. Me and sleep and never been friends I suppose. In all honesty to get a restful nights sleep I either need a couple Xanax bars or a bottle of liqueur and I really hate that because its hell on the body. That being said how much worse can it be than barely sleeping and Night TerrorsI used to have them all the time. I was living an extremely disfunctional, stressful life for awhile. I think the anxiety brought them on. I very rarely have them now, and it is always when I am seriously stressed.
I have gotten bit before so I do really have a phobia of them.
The best way of describing a Night Terror is waking up but bringing a part of the dream out with you for about 5 to 30 secs.
I know the difference.A lot of what y'all are describing are nightmares. There's a difference between that and night terrors. If you remember a dream, it was probably a nightmare since it happens at a different sleep stage.
We had to deal with night terrors with my oldest son for years. Finally gave in and medicated him. It's been a godsend.
Thats why you see so many Homeless Vets and such a high suicide rate among them. My uncle was in nam and to this day he drinks himself to sleep every night. Plus never make the mistake of coming up behind him and touching his shoulder. That's why it has been better as time has gone on. Counseling has helped quite a bit. I just hope others who have similar or worse issues do the same. Talking about it definitely helps.
I got bit by a recluse putting on a pair of jeans that was laying in my bedroom floor. I was around 19 and it left a nasty scar. That's a legit fear then for sure.
What was your experience getting bit, how'd it happen? Was it all what the internet makes it out to be?

All my sleep issues seemed to begin around the time I hit puberty. I dont think I have had a normal non substance aided sleep in 25 yearsI feel for people who have really bad persistent insomnia. I have periods of it where I can only sleep a couple hours a night for a week or so, but it always goes away.

Truth is I had been getting Night Terrors way before then. I just have a really intense phobia with certain kinds of spiders. Recluses, Hobo, and Wolf Spiders mainly.

Mine are a lot like this
Yeah I had to have the absess cut out and drined. It was a nasty experience.Did this require a hospital or doctor visit? Antibiotics?
So this isn't something you're actually "waking" up experiencing it's something that's happening while you're still asleep.

I also see or feel those damn Grey Aliens with I wake up paralyzed. The feeling of not being able to move and sometimes breathe is pure hell.

I have been to sleep clinics and it was their conclusion it was Night Terrors. I have put my fists through walls. Dislocated my shoulder trying to ram through a locked door. My wife says I will wake up running, screaming, or chasing things sometimes.
I have learned that they are way more likely to happen if I go to sleep stressed or mad.
