Nike Adidas and Under Armour Tell Lavar Ball To Pound Sand

That's pretty harsh. Idk who you've been watching but he's very athletic. His free throw shooting can be fixed with a small mechanical change. His size, skill, and athleticism is much closer to Jason Kidd than Rondo

He will be a great point guard. I see him leading the league in assists several years. He is a longer, taller, more athletic, better shooting Jason Kidd.

I agree it was harsh, and history proves you don't have to be a massive bust for a shoe to flop. There have been some great NBA players who couldn't push merchandise.

But we're supposed to pay a 160% premium over the standard bearer for basketball shoes (endorsed by the greatest of all-time), for an unknown brand being endorsed by an unproven talent.

More athletic than Kidd? I don't think so. Kidd was quicker and stronger at his age. He's got better length, but that's it. Kidd was drafted ahead of Grant Hill. He was a super athlete.

The shoes are ridiculous and he will cost his son a lot of money if he does bust in the NBA. He turned down $10 million endorsement deals because he wanted to co brand. If I was an NBA GM I'd be worried that Lavar will be a distraction

I would say at least as athletic. I think Kidd was faster but Lonzo has more ups.

Fox at Kentucky will be far better in the nba. Ask him how athletic lonzo is on defense

Not sure why people are wishing ill on the kid. I'm sure we've all been embarrassed by our parents at one time or another. He has no control over the dumb stuff his dad says. This is a case of an average dummy who thinks he's cracked the code. He's hurting his kids earning potential but it seems he's so egotistical he doesn't care. Unfortunate for the kid.

Fox could be the best PG in the draft if his jump shot develops but there aren't many guards in the league that can match up with Lonzo physically.

There's been tall point guards who aren't good. Just bc he's tall doesn't mean he will be good. He's slow, bad on defense, and terrible at freethrows. Inconsistent at 3 and he doesn't shoot midrange jumpers. Watching him guard Westbrook will be hilarious

I get your point, but disagree to an extent. He's not a kid; he's a grown adult entering a profession. He needs to man up and tell dad to butt out.

I wish no ill on him. I'm ambivalent either way. But this is a grown man entering the limelight with lots on the line. He needs to shut dad down/out as soon as possible on anything besides family gatherings.

I agree but who's he supposed to turn to? Lot of these guys have zero father figures, this guy has a dad and he's a moron. To me he's still a kid who may not be comfortable telling his dad to get lost. And who knows if he's had his kid sign a contract that ties them at the hip.

That's what sports agents are for.

Yea because agents are looking out for their best interests.

Quality agents are generally looking to get their clients long careers that pay lots of money. Working off of %%% tends to do that. If you're claiming that it's impossible for him to hear which agent he should trust/hire, or that he's better off with his crazy father at the helm, I firmly disagree.

Otherwise, I'm not following what point you're trying to make.

Agents care about their bottom line ($$$$).

I'm not saying that he should stick with pops, just that agents aren't amazing helping people either.

A week from today is the NBA draft lottery -- really hope the Nets are in order to get Ball

41% from 3 on 5.5 attempts per game means he can shoot. your scouting report is pretty bad. When's he 24 years old he will be able to bully just about PG that matches up with him

Right, dude shoots it great and has HOF court vision and basketball iq. He will be an All Star in a couple of years.

I think Ball will have plenty of great moments as a rookie but I bet guys like Curry, Paul, Wall etc can't wait to play against this guy. His dad has talked so much **** that they'll want to punish him. Expect lots of hard picks and fouls
