Can't expect these guys to choose a destination any differently than the way we choose where we work. It's just how it is. Sometimes, somebody is willing to pay more.

Strange. I changed jobs 3 times. Each time I took less money but better opportunity. All 3 worked out to significantly increase my income.

Does anyone feel that one of the big things football programs feared was paying too much to one recruit might come true? If Williams Nwa wanted say 800k and Kam Fountain wanted 850k and then Mike Matthews is sitting there with his 750k deal, and all of sudden we start having guys getting disgruntled in year 1.

I’m willing to bet that Nwaneri will be in the portal in a year after being around that goofball Coach Drink and his sinking ship.
Don't know. The WR Burden was a big NIL. Flirted with the portal after his freshman year and got a bigger payday. Promptly rewarded Missouri with a 375 yd sophomore season. In the meantime, Missouri's highest producing receiver, Lovett, transferred off to Georgia.

Don't know if they have. Just saying some schools have supporters with enough money to do that if they want. Was not referring to TA&M.
Well, A&M has more football "booster" money than any college in the country and they used it to bring in one of the most talent-laden recruiting classes ever. To date, that has not proved successful on the field. Not using the NIL money wisely can be an issue and seems to be the issue with A&M, with so many high-quality players having left the program. It would be logical to assume that jealousy over NIL money could be the major factor in A&M's disappointing performance to date.

Luther Burden is a sophomore this season. Last season was his first season with Missouri.

Or give in different ways. Sorry man not my problem. Rich folks should handle that for us.

I have never given a dime to a collective, and it feels good. Nothing wrong with doing it, I just don't have disposable income and if I did, I still wouldn't, unless it was a TON of disposable income. I do give in a variety of other ways as for as charity, just not to NIL stuff

If they choose some crap school where they won't get developed or are rarely seen it could cost them a lot more in the long run. Sometimes the quick buck isn't the long-term best route.
Crap schools like that don’t throw around big NIL money.

This NIL money fight for every single recruit seems exhausting and really quite confusing. What company (or just a booster) in their right mind has some no name 4 star recruit making big bucks…for what tagging something on social media?!? Seems like Bryce Young doing the Dr. Pepper commercial is the only NIL deal that the company got any actual compensation.

This NIL thing will cause locker room dissensions and apathy among teammates in the long run.

No different than managing expectations at any firm where you have talent but the experience is at different levels. Employees aren't supposed to discuss salaries and perks, but we all know they do. If an employee feels undervalued or mismanaged, they'll leave and you have to recruit someone to replace them.

Texas A&M is a good example of what can happen when you buy a #1 class. I trust CJH and ADDW to make the right decisions on that balancing act.

Cool. Using TAMU as an example is flawed. We have a much better culture than TAMU. So are you just assuming that buying elite talent is gonna cause problems for us like it did TAMU? If so, what are you basing it on?

Uhhhh. A&M's #1 bought class falling on it's face? I mean, they could regroup, but there's a bunch of those 5 stars not playing for A&M anymore. Or nah?

They are also one play away from never playing again. Smart to take a 6 or 7 figure check as insurance. If you're good, especially enough to be in an NIL battle, you'll get noticed.
