NIT selection show 9p ESPNU

The Sugar Bowl means nothing. It's for nothing. If you win a Final Four game, you play for the national championship. If you win the Sugar Bowl, you get squat.

I won't deny that getting to a BCS bowl means more, but as far as actually watching the game and caring about the outcome, I find the experiences similar. I don't care any more about actually winning a BCS bowl once we get there than I do about winning the NIT, which is to say I care, but I'm not losing sleep over it.

Really don't wanna sound like a negative nancy, but IMHO it honestly wouldn't surprise me if we lost to Mercer.

We will roll over Mercer and Southern Miss.

If we have the right mindset yes. We can beat almost anyone when playing well. Thing is, we have no heart. None. That's why I think we are so inconsistent and so frustrating to watch

I'm pretty sure that we weren't a #1 seed because we would have to HOST it and Dave Hart probably didn't want to deal with it.

This is flat out BS. We have heart. We have flawed basketball players. If you lose these days, why do people just say that a team has no heart?

Because its easier to rationalize that than admit to yourself that the other team was just better.

College basketball is way down this year. Jmo

I think it has been down for a while.

Not enough talent to go around, IMO. The best move out after 1 year, then it's on to the big show.

Shooting is wretched.

Only teams I have some interest in for the ncaa:

Nc state
Nc a&t
Miami
Cincinnati

That's it.

I don't think this can be emphasized enough. It's impossible to build any continual strength ala the football powerhouses when just about every outstanding player leaves ASAP for the bigs.

The most recent glaring example: Kentucky. 6 NBAers last year, not even a tourney spot the next.

Yeah. Although I don't care for consistent powerhouses, I would take some good quality basketball over what we have now.

They're not quite the pushover you may think. I've got season tickets for them and know the roster like the back of my hand. They can play with us if the 3s start falling.

Did you have to take a test after studying the back of your hand?
