Why was that tub of lard crying? Did she not realize that she was a blimp before chinawoman pointed it out to her? Good for chinawoman! I may drive to that salon this weekend just to get a pedicure.

Being charged extra for a services at a higher price than others without being told why.

She was told why. Her $5 was refunded and she was told to go elsewhere. The tragedy is that, even with pretty toes and feet, she is still an extremely unattractive blimp that did it to herself. Gyms don't charge lardies extra, her money is better spent there.

This is purely ignorant. You have no idea why she is overweight.

Maybe the Asian lady should charge everybody else extra to cover the cost of ear and tear.

Would that be fair to the smaller sized women?

"Wear and tear" is part of the cost of doing business. It should be factored in accordingly.

Should a handicapped person be charged more for a meal because the restaurant is required to build a ramp for access?

Obesity is not a handicap. It's a lack of self-control and laziness.

It can't go on if it doesn't go in. The human body cannot manufacture calories. Sounds as though you are the ignorant.

Look up thyroid issues (as it relates to obesity) and Cushing's syndrome and get back to me. These are only 2 of a number of medical issues that are relevant.

Thanks. I'm familiar with both. In both cases the human body still cannot manufacture calories.

On second thought, why don't you look up cushing's syndrome, since the greatest risk of acquiring it is obesity.

Keep trying, you're proving my point for me.:good!:

Cushing's syndrome. This condition results when the adrenal glands (located on top of each kidney) produce an excess amount of a steroid hormone called cortisol. This leads to a build-up of fat in characteristic sites such as the face, upper back, and abdomen.

Maybe you'd rather prove you're discriminatory rather than ignorant.

It's a bad business practice, but I'm not sure there's a discrimination case unless the woman can find a jury that believes her obesity qualifies as a handicap.

That would be too blatant... the cost of the ramp is probably already fixed into the cost of something else...

As far as I'm concerned this private business can do whatever they want. If this lady doesn't like it take her business elsewhere.

I am sure there will be some kind of precedent set for obesity discrimination in the near future. As we as a race get bigger there are going to have to be guidelines on what is considered discriminatory and what is not. I.E. is it discriminatory for airlines to charge obese passengers more?
