No CSU For Jancek

We should only pay him 3 quarters of what we owe him.
Or we should HOLD the payment for one game's worth of salary....for putting Jumper back onto the field after that first key holding penalty against OU. He turned around and made sure they'd keep the drive alive by HOLDING a 2nd time on 3rd down.

Jumper had no business playing, much less starting in that game...period. Horrible call on Jancek's part. Bynum played well in the Gator Bowl last year, and should have been the starter in that game, until they were ready to play Kirkland.

yeah there was some discussion..Bobo got the HC job there..maybe they had a relationship from UGA days?

Terry Fair is the DB coach here at CSU, perhaps that was the initial connection?

He'll have a new job by the time the Coaches meetings are finished.

It may be at a smaller school and for lots less money but he'll have a DC job somewhere.

He did too good of a job here to go unemployed and he has to start somewhere working his way back up the coaching ladder of success.

He's also learned lots of things from buTch over the years that other coaches will want to use to help build their program.

I hated losing those games this past season but I don't hate the guy and he did a good job of helping rebuild our dumpster fire of a program so I wish him the best.

Now it's time to move forward with Shoop, get great recruits and get ready to WIN the SEC Championship next season!

Well, the release said it was mutual. So, maybe he was told he could save face if he agreed to walk away. If there were even off field issues. Maybe they agreed to pay him a smaller figure also.

Could have agreed to a smaller buyout as a compromise. Not sure anything Jancek was doing would constitute firing him for cause, but certainly the threat of some of the info about his activities being leaked may have been damaging enough that he agreed to take a lesser amount.

Did Jancek have a lot of skeletons in his closet?

yep cause you know, according to PSU fans, it was Pry that made Shoop look good :)

Penn State: Co-defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Brent Pry has been promoted to defensive coordinator / associate head coach. Pry has spent the past five years with James Franklin at PSU and Vanderbilt. In addition, cornerbacks coach Terry Smith has added the title of assistant head coach, and defensive line coach Sean Spencer has added the title of run game coordinator

Mr. Spencer will never be happy during practice.

Oh, I have no doubt he was fired. Especially after his Tweet-a-thon. I just think that he was possibly encouraged to leave "mutually." As in, Jones lets him 'not get fired' and in turn they agree on a smaller severance amount.

Otherwise, why have the release that states it was mutual? What would be our benefit if we owe him the entire amount?

It wasn't about "our benefit" IMO.

This was Butch trying to let a friend save face - JMO.

No reason to throw him under the bus or make a statement. If I was a coach in the same situation I would appreciate the gesture.
