That pretty much is my entire argument.

I can't imagine the disgust Auburn must have felt watching Ok and USC play in a game they were denied for no reason other than, "Oops, we're sorry, we didn't know you were going to be that good preseason."

What a stupid way to pick a NC.

I don't blame Tubbervile. As far as I'm concerned, Auburn has every bit as much right to claim a share as USC.

Are you boys still at it?  We need to get you fellas an XBox Live and let you duke it out on the field!  Milo can be USC and OldVol can be Auburn.  Freak could even set up a pool!  It'll be great. . . .what do you say?

Auburn should blame ESPN ;)

I felt if ESPN had it their way, Auburn would have made the national championship.

I remember at the end of last season, on ESPN's college football front page, you could see 2, 3 or even 4 stories detailing Auburn's plight to make the Orange Bowl. There were all sorts of articles on why Auburn should play for the national title. The attention Auburn got from ESPN at the end of the year rivaled how much attention Oklahoma got all year, until the guys at ESPN looked like complete dolts when USC spanked Oklahoma.

Has everyone making the case for Auburn forgotten that they played SC at home in '03? While there was some personnel turnover on each team, it would not be unfair to use that game as a gauge. As I remember, SC beat them like cheap rugs and stole their lunch money.
