I dunno man. He has about as much job security at Liberty that a man could ask for. All he has to do is be careful with the old cell phone.
Maybe Auburn gives him another million a year to start but is it really worth the headaches?
If I was a college AD and needed a coach to turn the system around I'd be looking for someone who has done just that. I'd want a coach with a proven record and one that isn't being paid a ton of $$ . There's only one coach who stands out above the rest and will most certainly win the Coach of the Year title and that's our very own CJH. I'd say it's a certainty that Heupel will get the bank thrown at him by one or more teams this year. I't gonna cost UT a ton of $$ to keep him and IMO he would be worth whatever it took to keep him. It takes the best to beat the rest.
Dudley87,i bet the new AD of Auburn throws the bank at Dan Mullen and Hugh Freeze. Dan Mullen would make sense because they're friends and the big money alumni from what i heard want Hugh Freeze.
With what they’re allegedly demanding over there no coach worth their salt would ever go there. If what’s reported is true think Tennessee under Hamilton but finding a way to be much worse.

If it was me in his situation, I definitely would stay at Liberty. Sure you wouldn’t win a national title, but you can still have a successful program. At $5 million per year, you can enjoy coaching, earn plenty of money, and have good job security and avoid the insanity of a big time P5 program. I think many of us will get to the point in our careers where work-life balance and job security can be a deciding factor.Starting to think Freeze doesn't want the microscope of a P5 program again when he can collect $5+ mil every year at Liberty for the rest of his career.
I highly doubt it. I don't think Auburn gets Lane, Freeze, or Deion because it is hard to control those guys. They all come in with reputations of their own and aren't going to bow down to some booster. Especially Deion.Uncle Lou said on his YSIO video today that the big money Auburn Boosters want to hire Hugh Freeze
If Yella fella thinks hes getting a good coach that he can control, they will forever be where they are now, or worse. No good/great coach bows down to boosters thoughts/wishes.I highly doubt it. They probably make phone calls to each of their representatives but end up hiring some assistant somewhere.
I'll directly quote Chris Low, who made this statement on Swain's show once about Tennessee boosters:If Yella fella thinks hes getting a good coach that he can control, they will forever be where they are now, or worse. No good/great coach bows down to boosters thoughts/wishes.
Agreed, that's why they will never be great again until they get rid of that mentality.I'll directly quote Chris Low, who made this statement on Swain's show once about Tennessee boosters:
"They'd rather be on the sidelines of a 6-6 or 7-5 team than in a luxury box of a 10-2 or 11-1 team."
I really like Danny, but I think that mentality was already burning itself out when he got here.Agreed, that's why they will never be great again until they get rid of that mentality.
Danny White got rid of it here. Don't know enough about Coen to know if he's strong enough to change things at Auburn.

Unlike Auburn, Tennessee's boosters have a couple of factions that compete with each other, and both factions had recently undertaken campaigns that both failed spectacularly. Neither one was in a position to have enough influence to dictate direction, allowing Boyd and Plowman to bring in an outsider and actually let him do his job.
Very true, with the Haslems and Schiano vs. Thunder/Fulmer and Pruitt.I really like Danny, but I think that mentality was already burning itself out when he got here.

Fickell has already had chances to move on. He's being selective. I can't imagine he's turned down some probably pretty decent schools to turn around and seriously consider AU.I think Mullen would be a solid and stable hire for Auburn. The good thing he has going for him is Auburn fell from canning Gus to bottom dweller so fast....
Cohen taking that job besides the pay raise would need his guy. I also think Luke Fickell has reached his ceiling at Cincy. At some point he has to make a move.

Don't you worry. UTAD will give him an ironclad contract for Saban/Jimbo type money and then we'll be back to 7-5 without Hooker. Barn will hire Freeze and build the next SEC dynasty. If I was a college AD and needed a coach to turn the system around I'd be looking for someone who has done just that.
