No pundits mentioning Tennessee in early discussions

Who cares what the pundits think. It is at best an educated guess for the ones with a functioning brain. The rest just use a dart board. Remember, they had the Vol Baseball team ranked 9th going into the season and we ended up National Champions. I wonder if we end up 9th in the final preseason poll?

Think upper classman leadership is imperative, which is probably why JH brought 3 seniors to media days.

That’s what I see. For players to be leaders, it’s important that the coach embraces them as leaders. Each one of the three he brought are going to have to point the rest of the team in the right direction for inexperience not to be a detriment.

Put these on and quit thinking about pundits.

Oh man, if only they hade made more runs of those glasses. I have one pair, which I got when they ran that special manufacturing promotion, and I protect that SOB like Gollum protects the effing Ring.

Sorry for my language, I'm just - I should have bought more. I should have bought many, many more.

It's pretty simple IMO. There are around 8 teams in SEC that have top level talent nation wide. If one of those teams can mesh that talent with a QB with Heisman numbers they could win it all. UGA has their QB so their in top 12. Texas is in also IMO, Alabama could be its as stated how does their QB evolve to the new system. Miz could if Cook has great year, they lost their D coordinator and a lot on D & SEC leading rusher but have the easiest schedule which is still hard, its the SEC. If Nico has HH numbers or above UT is there. Joe had decent numbers but was the lowest of Hype QBs so I expect some good to great numbers from Nico. A&M has been recruiting great but not turning in to expected win totals and new coach but who knows. Oklahoma let a great QB go to Oregon to keep a 5 star future QB so we will see how that goes. The common denominator in all of these is SEC has the best players whom of these teams has a QB that shows out, that will be the difference IMO.
I believe this year’s team has the talent to win 10-11 games. Look at the areas of improvement. Better QB, better O line, as good or better D line, better LBs, and more talent in the D secondary than we have had in years. Oh, less I forget, the best Receivers and TE we have in decades. This is likely to be the first year of double digit wins for the foreseeable years.

Whether we win all, most, or a few, the fact remains that none of the opposing coaches want to prepare to play us! We’re different and pose a threat to anybody we line up against! The coaches don’t want to lose against us and the talking heads fall in line with them! We gotta get used to that treatment for only a little while!

Defeating NC State is huge.
Defeating OU at their place is then a statement win.
Better get healthy at running back and stay healthy at qb...
Need James Pearce to have the top draft slot secured after those two games. He will harass McCall & Arnold, Arnold particularly have shown he’s prone to throw a pick or four in a game.

Only our fanbase is saying Nico has Heisman potential. We have 1 good proven running back in Sampson. and our Secondary is sus until proven otherwise.
No doubt our secondary is suspect. However, domintaing defensive lines can make a poor secondary average and an average one pretty dang good. And IMO the DL on this team is talented enough to make the secondary good enough, assuming they need the help.

It also doesn't help that we laid an egg with that terrible Florida team last year and got whooped by Missouri. Flip one of those games and you have two ten win seasons in a row with added depth and talent which probably gets more consideration from the national media types.
Those games have no bearing in this year. None.

IMHO IF the Vols are 3-0 heading into Norman and somehow upset the Sooners that Saturday, a 6-0 Tennessee team taking on Bama Oct 19th SHOULD be ranked in the Top 10 and IMHO have a chance for a HUGE upset...IF that happens, Georgia should be the only team to keep the Vols from an UNDEFEATED regular season..

The media and most everyone else are overlooking the Vols and that is a GOOD thing..Sometimes the best work is done out of the spotlight..And this Vol team seems to have been shoved out of the spotlight..So be it..Again, this is all JMHO.....

Flame away.....
