No reason we should lose this game

You boys keep the positive mojo running. I’ve seen the Vols fumble, bumble and stumble their way to defeat in this series long enough that I never feel like it’s a win.

I don't get the doom and gloom BVS garbage that so many cling on to and just won't let go of. We're three years removed from crap coaches, clearly among the best 10-12 programs in the country and climbing, competing for the top recruits again, have a coach with a vision who wants to be here, and coming off our best season in 20+ years.

Maybe it's the idea of making any disappointment easier to handle by saying "here we go again" at the first bump in the road, I don't know. I'm not saying to be a koolaid drinking homer, but at some point I would recommend just relaxing and enjoying the ride. Could we lose today? Sure, this is still a work in progress, but I'm not ready to burn the house down if we do.

Epic post-game meltdowns happen partly because of this mentality "no excuse to lose" before the game even starts. There are a lot of reasons why the Vols can win and several why they might not. It's a wild, unpredictable game.
Are you some kind of risk management analyst? When you drive to work in the morning how many scenarios go through your head? “Well if I go this way studies show I am more likely to make it to work safely and if I never let my gas tank get below three quarters of a tank there is a good chance I will not run out of gas”. It’s a football game man and I think we should win.

I agree with all those saying we will know in the first quarter. We stay on the gas and start leaving them in the dust that stadium will empty out by the fourth. Florida is really nervous because it’s not just one game, it’s the rest of their season and seasons to come.

This is one of the worst Florida teams we have played in a long time, swamp or not we should win.

How do you know what Florida has got? They lost the road-opener to a very good team in Utah. They won 49-7 in their second game at home against McNeese. They actually looked better in their second game than UT did against AP at home. No one knows what Florida is going to put on the field tonight. That said though, they will have good athletes and they will bring their best game at home against UT.
Secondly, we don't know for sure what UT has either. Beating VA and struggling against Austin Peay does not exactly instill confidence in the ability to go into Gainsville and come out with a win. There are people on this board that believe that Milton is a great QB and a Heisman candidate; I don't. I have nothing against the young man and I hope he throws for 500 yards tonight. But I need to see it.
This game will tell much about what UT has and what needs work.
I hope UT blows them out tonight.
Go Vols.

These Vols players and this staff go into every game believing they will win, it sure would be great to see the fans start doing the same.

This is the most unatheletic Florida team along the line of scrimmage I have ever seen. Slow, fat guys across the board. Their OL will struggle against our pass rush, and they will have trouble on defense getting to Joe without blitzing all the time. That's not a good situation for the Gators.

I agree - this UF does not seem to have the usual number of athletes as in the past. But it’s a road game in a place UT has not won in for 20 years (that’s not BVS - it’s simply a fact), and UT’s last performance / last game was pathetic. I think that’s the concern.

Last week just scared me. APSU is not good compared to TN. Even if TN was looking ahead then they should have won that game 30-40 points. FLA opponent probably compares to AP and they beat them 49-7. That just scares me, buts you never know what will happen.

I just hope we play to WIN! If we play not to lose like we did in SC game last year, then it will be the same outcome as that game. Let's go Vols, and play to win/dominate!

I think people aren't realizing to that Florida has 3 dline that weight over 360. One of em weighs 410. If we go fast and keep Florida from subbing we're gna gash the **** out of them. I honestly think if Joe plays well it's a blow out. If he doesn't play well we win by 3-10. Go vols
Excellent point. I still don't know what to expect tonight, and I can see it going either way, but that is something to think about.

I swear, I hope the team has more confidence in themselves than some on here do. Not even willing to contemplate we have a good chance. If my suspicion is correct and this is the first game we truly run our normal offense, we should have absolutely no problem today. We will see for certain in just a couple of hours.

We definitely should. But, we've also lost games at the swamp and had the much better team. Most days, whatever bad could happen, happened to us. Turnovers have absolutely killed us down there. Time to swing it the other way.

I hope this is not wishful thinking, but I agree with you. I think we've ran a very vanilla offense the 1st 2 games. I believe the WR's and Milton will look much better tonight. But , also know that several times we've had the much better team and something freaky happened and we lost. We just gotta prove we can get out of our own way and start our own streak.

We’ve played and lost to worse Florida teams. We have 20 years of history going against us. I want us to go down there and take no mercy. I want to be up 30+ by halftime. Send a message.
