A Treasure Hunt smile sighting lol her demeanor has been noted on this board before

That’s what some playing time will do. I totally see what her coach meant by the speed of the game. It’s not a knock you can tell the girl has talent but she looked lost on a lot of plays on the defensive end. Glad she is healthy and smiling!

Since we are playing against an ex LV i decided to check in on the last member of that #1 recruiting class and Annie Hayes is TEARING IT UP! She is LEADING the nation in scoring... What could have been with Kellie at the wheel! Good luck to her. Oh, and baby Hayes has cut her final list down and none of the schools include where she has a sister playing. Seems the last two Hayes sister seemed to be destined to set their own paths. 65D52BE7-5ED9-44D7-833A-6EA681D9EEC0.png

I didn't realize how many HS seniors graduated early and joined their college team for 2nd semester. Should be interesting to see how many of these players contribute any meaningful minutes for their teams. Darius played 20 minutes and scored 8 points for UCLA in her second game.

Saylor Poffenbarger: UCONN, ESPN recruit ranking #30
Talia Von Oelhoffen: Oregon St, ESPN recruit ranking #25
Dominique Darius: UCLA, ESPN recruit ranking #26
Madison Conner: Arizona, ESPN recruit ranking #71
KN'isha Godfrey: Mississippi St, ESPN recruit ranking #40
Ally VanTimmeren: Boston College, ESPN recruit ranking #95
Katie Borowicz: Minnesota, ESPN recruit ranking #98
Jess Finney: Washington, ESPN recruit ranking #94
Izzo Zingaro: Iowa State, NR
Elise Williams: Wake Forrest, NR
ND Top recruit Olivia Miles Enrolling Early she should be on campus today with the team. Major pick up for Niele !

I assumed that Annie was putting up points on a ridiculous # of shots and low FG%, but she's shooting at 45%...which I think is very good for a guard who is the scoring leader. Imagine how good she could be if she could shoot the long ball.

Having said that, she seems like she's not one who likes being told what to do, so who's to say she would have been as productive if she was playing for a team where the offense wasn't centered around her?

What's unbelievable is that she went from zero minutes in SEC play to 35 min against Vandy. Didn't shoot well, but she played hard. Maybe this was the opportunity for her to get more comfortable with the adjustment to college play?

Louisville and NC State too.

yes ... NC state just gets after it. Louisville i haven’t even watched yet but i catch their scores.

I thought the TN girls who transferred from GA Tech would make more of an impact on the program but they are really good kids on a loaded team. Maybe next year...

Louisville leaning heavily on 2 freshmen starters, but they have been productive and consistent all season long.

Balogun and Dixon have been fine role players for Louisville, but it's basically "The Dana Evans Show, starring Hailey and Olivia"

it’s not that unbelieavable UK had 8 available players due to injury or COVID protocol... It was a close game and Patterson fouled out in the 4th so that was another perimeter player missing at some point

^ and Kianna Smith she is their a second leading scorer i believe

I think it was an opportunity to get her minutes since Vandy is slow right now. Kentucky didn’t have a choice though. She played that many minutes because Howard, Benton and Jazz were all out. They were very short handed with only 8 available players. Vandy only had 7 available I believe.

That’s how Jeff likes his teams. He always has to have a star and then he puts pieces around it haha. Next season Hailey will assume that role. I’m not sure why he likes it so much. I feel it makes them one dimensional a lot of times. When they get deep in the season that’s usually how they lose. Someone shuts down their star and they get recover enough from everyone else to stay in the game.

UK and UL are similar in that manner but i do think UK has a little more balance this year but as of late they have been just defending in Rhyne again

What are you basing it on though? Louisville has looked better than UConn to me and they haven’t really faced anyone either and I also don’t see Poffenbarger helping UConn on the boards when they face tougher and taller teams. JMHO
Obviously speaking from your heart. On the basis of that comment it's apparent you have not watched much video on the lady. Also UConn has more than enough height to handle SC without Saylor. Have you met Aaliyah Edwards yet? There have been some changes since last year. Currently, though not against a stellar lineup, UConn leads the nation in 2 categories; Offensive field goal percentage (53%) and defensive field goal percentage (29%). I really think Boston is great but there is one weakness in her game, she can't pass the ball to herself.

Yep, no estimation given on how long she’s out so someone will need to step up. If they were playing anyone but Vandy last night that would have been an L.

Off topic, but I suspect we will see some high profile transfers from MSST and Kentucky. Care to take a stab at who might be moving around?

I just don’t see them keeping their roster together based on how their season is going so far. MSST has some really talented players right now. They only lost 6 games all of last season, 3 in the SEC. They have already dropped 3 SEC games this season. With the coaching change and their level of basketball dropping I imagine some of them will be looking for a new home.

If Howard is out more than a game or two Kentucky is going to lose several games as well. They’re in the same position with a coaching change and a deep bench of pretty talented players. With Howard out they basically have to restructure their entire offense since so much of it runs through her.

They have come to Nikki’s rescue on social media so i don’t know. Maybe Jackson transfers to another school she looks frustrated to me and i would think one of their guards as they are super guard heavy

UK i don’t know who would transfer... Bfore i might have said Hunt but i think she will stay. The thing for me is the extra year and i think Mckinney and their other senior Wyatt come back. Patterson i dunno if she uses her last year to play somewhere else or with a weaker WNBA draft takes her shot at going pro.

I think we could see a lot of players in the transfer portal including our team. Players that are not getting to play and top freshmen coming in to certain schools making that roster deeper and better shoves some players further down the bench and even more pine time. I think the portal will be loaded and a place where a lot of teams can immediately get better quickly. Also a lot of players that need to move down a level not talented enough to play a lot at the top level conferences.
