Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2023-24

They should not get in. Rewarded for underachieving should never happen.
Yeah, Creme has them as the last team in right now. Wouldn't be surprised if more players announced their intent to transfer soon and MSST made the tournament without the services of their key players. They have no business getting in, tbh; LSU and Ole Miss are more deserving, and that's just from the SEC.

When you're a team that is used to the success that MSST has had, began the year as a top 10 team and have your fingers crossed during the American Athletic Conference tournament...you know that your fall from grace was done in spectacular fashion. Great job by Nikki...she certainly outdid Holly by far on this one.

Evidently they are at the bottom of last four in three teams ahead of them to go out first. I think they are in great position to make the tourney.
I think it's the other way around. UCF just moved ahead of them according to Creme. If there is an upset in the AAC and either USF or UCF don't win, then Creme would predict they are first out.

I honestly can't see them getting any love from the selection committee. They lost 7 of their last 9 games, and 1 of their wins was Auburn.

USF and UCF are two teams hard to watch offense abysmal, I call it like i see it. it is what it is.

It is any harder than watching SEC games? There have been a number of abysmal SEC games this season and to think of it, in most conferences this Covid season.

Your argument holds no kind of weight behind it and you know it try again. If you put OLD MIss, LSU, GA, KY, State would win that conference you think ?

My prediction for departures from MSST:

GRADUATION:
Sidney Cooks
Yemiyah Morris
Caterrion Thompson

DEFINITE TRANSFER:
Rickea Jackson
Jessika Carter
JaMya Mingo Young
Madison Hayes

POTENTIAL TRANSFER:
Aliyah Matharu
Xaria Wiggins
Myah Taylor (if the team gets gutted)

Yep, think that covers the whole roster, except for the last two players on the bench, who will be promoted to the centerpieces of the team.

Personally, I'd love to see Myah Taylor come to Tennessee...even more than Rickea.
Xaria's out whos next ....

Michigan has been heavily over-rated all season. Lost by almost 20 to Northwestern in the Big 10 Quarterfinal today. Should help us with seeding in the NCAAs as they are a team right near us in terms of rank and record. We have a much better resume though.

They won a close one over Northwestern at home thanks to the zebras, UM shot 29 FTs to NW’s 12. Didn’t have that benefit in the neutral tournament. Usually see who the better team really is in the second matchup when teams play back to back.

Would not be at all shocked if UM is knocked out in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Have watched them several times and I’m not impressed. Hillmon is a great individual performer and carried them in most of their games. Reminds me a lot of Auburn with Unique Thompson. She’s not enough to carry them very far in tournament play though.

What does winning a conference have to do with my post. I did not say the SEC was a weak conference. There have been a number of SEC games that were hard to watch because of the weak offense. I also said other conferences have had games that were hard to watch. Do you have trouble comprehending what you read?

I know you did not say the SEC was a weak conference i`m just saying USF and UCF, The two teams that are hard to watch . But on the real if i was USF and UCF i would be happy because both teams might make the field because UConn is no longer in that conference.

Watching Mich State vs Indiana and very impressed with Mich State. MSU even looked good against Penn State yesterday. Winston is a great player for them. And again Indiana just looks overrated and thought that when UT beat them at their place earlier this season. Spartans will definitely be in the field with a win over Indiana. Also random but the 6 to 10 games I have watched on FS Network, the commentators are really good. Better than ESPN anyway.
