“The football”, as you say, at UCONN is an institutional problem. The facilities in place are closer to FCS schools than BCS schools, ditto for game attendance. UCONN does not and has not made the commitment to football that is required for a program to gain entrance into a power 5 BCS conference. I would argue UCONN should play football at the FCS level. Boston College is the single school from all of New England that has put forth the effort to field a BCS football program.

UConn tried they invested $90 million in the program that in 2010 beat South Carolina 20-7 in the Papa Johns Bowl. But the geography of being 90 miles from the Patriots and 90 miles from the Giants and the Jets have the locals feeling like college football is the 'B' league.

If I want to see a good college football team, I'll go the 40 miles to Clemson. Most folks around here seem to think of the chickens as and FCS school.

We have a small guard coming in who scouting services say is a speed merchant and potentially the fastest in the class. Hope she can be like Aari M. Both games fun to watch. None of the teams lost.

I like Miles. It will take her a few games to understand how to use that speed to her advantage. Geno had to teach Crystal that there are times you need to slow down a bit. She's going to be very good before she's done.

As far as the game. It looked to me like the whole AZ team was too quick. they played at a different level. They taught our ladies a good lesson. Once more I say the losers lament, "Wait Until Next Year!!"

Until we become a championship program again, high school players are going opt to go elsewhere.

So, if the best HS players opt to go elsewhere because we are not a championship program, how do we get to be a championship program?

Develop the players you have into championship quality players, and you have to win the recruiting battles for those players who are opting to go elsewhere. We have 8 NCAA Titles to our credit, and for some reason, I don't know why, the top HS players may be considering UT, but they are not coming to UT. There should be no reason with our history, that we shouldn't land those program changing players. Players want to know they have a huge change to make their dreams come true and win a championship. We are steadily going in the right direction, but it goes back to build your program, your players, and recruit, recruit, recruit!!!!!

Apparently he was banned from the Boneyard and frequently begs posters in UConn Territory to go on the Boneyard and make posts he wants made but can’t make himself

Forget interest in women basketball this place is just comedy hour with some of the neurotic posters.

I know they're talking about the score, but she also lost in the championship game to Tennessee in 1991 in overtime, 70-67, when it looked like UVA had it in the bag. They even voted her MOP because the voting was done before we forced OT. She has had a lot of heartbreak in the FF as a player and coach, for sure.

I have always suspected Bballnut1952 was either Doggydaddy or Tonyc, so this doesn’t surprise me. I knew Winston Smith was a CT fan, and I’m fairly certain PG1 is a CT fan posing as a Lady Vols fan. That has always been a thing with twisted CT fans — to come here and pose as LV fans so they can feel great about pulling the wool over the eyes of LV fans. They’ve been doing it for decades.

Boneyard moderators don't put up with certain traits. For example, Nan hates the word thug she says it gives the wrong impression of people. No talking about physical appearances either. It's demeaning to people.

You'll get banned from The Boneyard for much less than that, especially if you're not a UConn fan. I used to go to that board for actual real discussion of basketball, during the years of the regular series. I was friends with several UConn fans online from the ESPN board so I would visit there. Nan has been referred to as Nan the Nazi for years because of her micromanaging style of moderating. I haven't been to that board in years but was banned because I literally disagreed with her over something very trivial. I was always sure to be respectful because I was a visitor there but she still managed to ban me, lmfao. She banned opposing fans and even some UConn fans over the slightest things, not just stuff you are talking about. Slewbopper, God rest his soul, couldn't stand the woman and used to drag her for filth on the old ESPN board. She's inherently thin-skinned and has always portrayed herself as extremely narcissistic. Not that The Summitt was ever really that much better, but in the case of TS, Maria would just beat you over the head with what she considers to be 'insider info' -- even though I know for a fact Pat told the players to not tell her too much, and she was wrong as much as she was right -- and if you disagreed she would try her hardest to make you feel like crap, but the ban hammer was much harder to come by. Plus, Smokey, unlike Maria, was never a pollyanna, so there was a balance, but he posted much less after Pat retired, and it became a place where you maligned if you didn't carry water for Holly, especially after it went to a subscription platform. Of course, once TinyVol was made a mod, it was all over. It was like having another Maria.

Let this sink in.... both your precious UConn and Chicken university both jam packed with high school AA’s lost. Coaching has a lot to do with winning.

What does that mean? If you are trying to say UConn and SC have elite recruits, yes they do. And they are in the final four. So what’s the point? It’s also worth noting they will both have more elite talent next year than this year. And UConn’s best player, who by the way I think is slightly overrated, was a freshman.

Even Pat Summitt never won a championship in modern times (since at least 1995) without one of the best players and that player was always an elite recruit.

I was thinking NewDog (and prior to that, MDoggie), whose last post was shortly before BBallNut's account was created. But if it is him, to be fair, he is way less explicitly trollish now than before even though he still comes out the woodwork to defend Connecticut. He ruffles some feathers but has some good posts and insights.

The South Carolina fans would go on the Boneyard and express camaraderie over their shared hatred of Tennessee, and now that UConn fans hate them they come here and wonder why all the SC hate. Lol. I don't even hate on SC or Dawn like some of y'all do and I find that kinda funny.

Dawn comes across as whiny and was also a very whiny player, but she openly rooted for us to make the FF back in 2015 and has always openly spoken well of Pat, so I don't have anything against her.

westbook thread on the boneyard. some of the uconn fatiful say westbook not good engough for wnba and she had bad game last night. all you westbrook lovers need to read the boneyard this morning and if any of you know her tell her read too. glad to see ncaa did not buy her story lady vols fired hollie so i should have got play last year.

YEAH, she went to UConn and was the starting PG on a final four team!! That'll show her!!!!

I do regret her leaving. She was the missing piece for the LVs this seaosn. I think with Evina, the LVs would have been a pretty good chance at making the final four as well.
