I don't have a huge problem with Van Lith. 20+ ppg and 43% shooting isn't terrible. But there are probably better options out there...just can't name them off the top of my head.
Fudd makes zero sense if only because she missed so much of the season.
In addition to NPOY, I think this is the list that will also determine the All-American Teams (last 10 players standing).
Wooden Top 20 List released today. The 5 players that were removed from the top 25 list are: Azzi Fudd (UConn), Jordan Horston (Tenn), Emily Kiser (Michigan), Taylor Mikesell (Ohio St), Maddy Williams (OU)You can play your way onto the list. Also, the list will eventually be pared down to 10, which will represent the All American Team (replaces Kodak and then WBCA team).
Right now, I think it's a given that the following players will be on it:
1. Aliyah Boston
2. Caitlin Clark
3. Haley Jones
4. Cameron Brink
5. Zia Cooke
6. Elizabeth Kitley
7. Angel Reese
Deep pool for the last three spots. I think Aliyah Edwards, Mackenzie Holmes, Taylor Mikesell, Olivia Miles and Maddy Siegrist are the front runners. Not sure I see anyone new breaking the list when they pare it down to the top 15.
I think Van Lith has a lesser argument to stay on the list compared to any of the exclusions not named Azzi Fudd.
