I remember the SEC from way back, it’s always been a physical conference that stood on defense. LSU has taken it to a new level lately in some respects especially the hair pulling and constant elbows/hands thrown above the shoulders, but the SEC has always been a physical league. Based upon results, it has always done well in the NCAA’s. Some prefer the women’s game to be a much more mild version of how the men play, but as athletes get bigger, stronger etc it is inevitable that the women’s game will be somewhat more physical than years past. Two of the most physical teams that SC played this year outside of the SEC were NC and Duke, and many of the PAC12 teams bring their own brand of physicality to the game these days. It’s not just the SEC anymore that can play physical.Don't know about recruiting but it definitely reinforces some already existing national perceptions of the SEC as a wrestling match waiting for a game to break out around it. Not everyone likes to play that way.
IMO basketball in general has to get a hold on the wrestling match in the post. The riding, the pushing, etc has gotten way out of hand. Don't want to foul them all out, but it has to get reined in.

She has a covid year and a redshirt year, I believeShe has been in college somewhere for like seven years I think. How she has another year is confusing.

We should have more ranked team rn… to have Fairfield over Bama Ole Miss is wildIf Staley unleashes Fulwiley next season, and I believe she will, Milaysia will be in the running for SEC POY. I expect SC to go to a 3 guard starting lineup next season with Hall coming off the bench, and if they stay in a two guard set, Raven or PaoPao will have to come off the bench. You have to play/start a talent like Fulwiley.
Watkins-C
Feagin or Kitts- F
Fulwiley
PaoPao
Raven
Reserves: Bree Hall (3), Tessa Johnson (2-3), Feagin or Kitts (4), Feagin (5), Edwards (4)
Could they be better again next year? I think it’s possible, esp if Fulwiley takes the big jump everyone anticipates. I am very interested in seeing how many minutes per game Edwards carves out as a true freshman. Feagin and Kitts will be trying to fight her off from day one for PT. I’m hoping they make Breezy Hall the 6th man (woman), she could excel at that role and tbh, it would aid the team to replace her with Fulwiley for starting 5.
I’d give Feagin 10-15 minutes per game as the backup 5 and 10 minutes at fwd. Kitts would get 20+ minutes at fwd and then you give Edwards 10-15 minutes initially at fwd and see if she can overtake Kitts.
It’s going to get really competitive next season with the two new additions in Texas and OK. I expect Texas initially to be a challenge for the top spot in the conference, and depending on who stays at LSU I don’t think they are going to drop off much anytime soon, esp since they did not land any top HS recruits this cycle, they will therefore have $ for the portal and will be a big player there again. Mulkey is the type now that attracts older players better than HS players tbh. Watch for them to make a big splash once again in the portal, she has the boosters to make it happen financially. She has major pull in La., and gets what she asks for Money wise. Don't forget, they get their starting center back next year, she would have made a huge diff on that team this year if healthy.
It‘s going to get really competitive next season in the SEC. I’m not sure who returns for UT right now, I’d expect Spear (95% confident), Key (90% confident) to come back. But Coach Harper absolutely has to have a good offseason in the portal to replace RJ’s production. I think she will. None of us know the $ numbers spent on RJ, but as one of the top players in the nation, she did not come cheap, those dollars should be available to Coach Harper to hit the portal again at the least, and I suspect the LV’s have upped their support numbers financially since the beginning of last season.
The days of the SEC having only 1-2 ranked teams nationally as has been the case recently are about to be a thing of the past. The B1G gains USC, UCLA, Oregon and Wash, but Clark is leaving, Holmes is leaving and it’s possible the SEC jumps to the top next year in spite of the additions to the B1G. The ACC will be in play of course.

UT should be just out of it but at least 4 but hey everyone here says we burn them so much ig
At least UT doesn’t burn the committee making it to the 16
Would’ve been really embarrassing to give Iowa State the host last year and they lose to Toledo again huge favor gained by the committee from that decision imo
The free 2nd transfer is WILD and will really shake up the landscape. So curious as to who will enter.
Rn I agree that it seems everyone is planning on coming back. Imo next year will be kellies biggest test on looking to the future. The off season is pivotal on our very volatile roster. I think some will really surprise and some may disappoint. How will Kellie evaluate who’s on the rise.
The portal should tell us who she is planning for next year to be vital.
