Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

A little surprising Arkansas is not going a different direction with coaching. You would think after losing Wolfenbarger, Goforth, Poffenbarger and Scott, that his boss would be asking questions.

All super talented and highly rated players. Goforth had some health stuff but just didn’t seem like she wanted to play.

I’m assuming they are retaining him since he is already adding players for next seasons and coaching in the WBIT

There is a new consolation tournament this year, the WBIT...and then a step below that is still the WNIT...so you were right, there's no SEC in the WNIT, they are in the other tournament...can be confusing!
Everyone included. Everyone gets a trophy mentality. Another tournament because we wouldn't want to leave anyone out...

And he is one of the good ole boys that isn't highly paid. National coaching search could lead to having to add $$$.

WNIT should go str8 mid major and become the beacon of mid Major championship

The WBIT should be a tournament of 8 teams who were left out of the NCAAs to jockey for position for next season (even tho that technically shouldn’t matter it does bc of rosters)

WBI should go for a niche like HBCU National Championships

Then all tournaments would have a valid niche

I see Columbia is favored over Vandy tonight. Thoughts? I think it will be close but I would pick Vandy to win.

I think Columbia wins by 10. They play hard, have a great core group and a star player in Hsu.

Don’t think Vandy matches up with Hsu that well and they looked so flat toward the end of SEC play. Vandy has been trending worse while Columbia has been looking better and better.

I don't know Columbia well enough to guess based on match-ups, but after the quotes from Columbia's coach about middling SEC teams...for the first time in my life I'll be fully rooting for Shea Ralph and her crew. Hope they pull it together and take this one!

AP All American first team: “Clark was joined on the first team by Stanford’s Cameron Brink, UConn’s Paige Bueckers and freshmen JuJu Watkins of USC and Hannah Hidalgo of Notre Dame. “

SECOND TEAM: The AP second team was headlined by Kitley, who was the ACC Player of the Year for a third straight season. She was joined by Reese, South Carolina's Kamilla Cardoso, Texas' Madison Booker and Ohio State's Jacy Sheldon.

THIRD TEAM: The AP third team was Utah's Alissa Pili, Holmes, Syracuse's Daisha Fair, Virginia Tech's Georgia Amoore and Oregon State's Reagan Beers.

HONORABLE MENTION: Ayoka Lee of Kansas State and Aaliyah Edwards of UConn were the leading vote-getters among players who didn't make the three All-America teams.”.

Our girl is in theHM group.
