It's hard to make your case when you look at how Dawn's team has performed over the past three years. Great recruiting is part of being a great coach. Every year Aja wins MVP of the WNBA makes her statue even more relevant. She deserves another statue for her community service and for what she has meant to the young girls of our community. Don't allow your objectivity to be clouded by sour grapes.

This morning the University of South Carolina Band will march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade thanks to Dawn Staley, Shane Beamer and Darius Rucker. The band had raised 500K for the trip but came up short. Dawn, Shane, and Darius each gave 25K to make up the difference.

Why? I mean, the parade is the epitome of destructive consumer culture that is inherently racist.

Coach Yo added a bit to the 'hyperbole'. That lack of D effort in the first half was just . . . Apparently she went on an online spaces after the game and shared many more harsh words, which she's sort of apologizing for this morning.

It's her job to figure out how it could have happened, nerves, intimidation, whatever. Yes UConn is good, but 15 uncontested layups? OM was just quitting on many drives. She obviously lit a fire under tham at halftime, but OM was never going to have enough offense to come back. Yo's job to figure that out too.

Wait. How can you post here in good conscience? This site is supported by adds from retail sellers on Thanksgiving that I presume you believe are promoting "the destructive consumer culture that is inherently racist".

SC without a coach could probably beat all but the top 15 teams. Probably most of the 10-15 teams in D1.

But the players who could beat those teams wo a coach wouldn't be there without the recruiting of the coach.

It's arguable that recruiting and managing the talent is even more important than x and o coaching. As you said, with that much talent, sometimes you can just roll the balls out. Pat and Geno both always said having the best talent is far and away the most important part.

Examples of good x and o coaching by Dawn can certainly be found over her long careerB, esp during the incredible win streak. But I continue to maintain she's better at recruiting and management.
