Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Bama/Mi St should be a good game. I think Belmont will give Kentucky a game today too. They have played a really tough schedule and come up just short against a lot of really good teams.
I was gonna say, anyone who purchased the event pass has access to the Bama game too. MSU is currently undefeated and ranked 15. Would love to see Bama beat them and help UT up the polls.

Tennessee is moving up in the polls week by week as they continue to win games.
This early season 10-game resume is very impressive.
Tennessee is a top 15 team.
Today’s win against Richmond is as good as any we’ll see this week short of the outcome of the USC vs UCONN game.

Same I hate to root for Bama but will be today. Don’t mind rooting for Zaay but otherwise….
Right now, after watching our game and then starting to watch this Bama/MSU game it is like watching paint dry. 9-8 with 19 seconds left. Boring. On pace for a 36-32 game. Bout the same as an average junior high school team game score.

If it's from mutually suffocating defense, it's watchable. If it's from straight-up-bad offense, then yeah, that's dredful. But at least the game's close.

Which one is it, anyway? Niether team has played elite defense this season so far, so I assume it's more on the offenses?

Painful isn’t it?

Michigan State plays great D without fouling but I’m not at all impressed by them. Very under athletic.

good defense for State bad offense for state imo. They’re in control of the tempo but just not athletic enough to score on Bama.

Bama shredding the State press in the second half. Really nice adjustment, beating it with the pass and getting it to the open player. I’m not at all impressed with State both times ive watched I have the same opinion. Very good defense AWFUL offense and no athleticism. Bama is by far the most athletic team they have played and they are struggling with the speed and size.

I'm not sure why this tournament format was set up the way it was, but MSU played yesterday and is playing Alabama today, who has their next game tomorrow against Richmond. Bama is starting to pull away now 52-36, 6 minutes into the 3d quarter. Perhaps, not surprisingly with MSU tired from playing yesterday.

Yeah all teams will end up playing back to backs. Strange setup though.

Bama totally in control. I switched over the Belmont/Kentucky now. Belmont out to an early lead. Kentucky looking sucky offensively as usual.

Amoore still foul prone picked up two quick ones in this game. Always been a problem for her. When we play we need to go right at her from the tip. She cannot guard any of our guards and will foul.

Amoore’s shooting totally stinks this season.

Kentucky has two plays

1) Amoore bricks a screen off the pick and roll
2) Amoore gives to Strack on the give and go off the pick and roll.

So really one play with two outcomes. Outside of that? Nada. They do not have any serviceable third option in their offense.

I sure do hope Kentucky loses. So many people thought Lexington won the coaching/recruiting lottery when they brought in ol' Creepy Kenny Brooks, and that Danny White was serving up chopped liver in Caldwell, so I've had a persistent desire to see her outshine him ever since.

Kim is the steal of the last coach hiring season, not Brooks. That is all.

Agreed.

Will also say Kim already out-recruited him with a #2 class coming in next season.

K. Brooks will have to do major work in the portal to have a competitive team next season.
