Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Kentucky still has to play SC, Texas, and LSU before they get to us. If they lose those three and we win the next three we will be playing for a higher position above them and it would also mean winning out a higher position that Bama or Ole Miss. Oklahoma still looks like the team that could get fourth they need to lose twice while we win all of ours. Vandy not that worried they have a lot of games left that they could lose.

I really just need us to win our games not that concerned about the SEC Tourney or where we finish in the SEC this season. Would love to get that home court for the first two games on the NCAA and it is ours if we win the remaining games.

Assuming we win out and KY doesn't upset any of the big 3, it's now Vandy and OK standing btw us and a double bye in the SEC, which I think is important due to our style of play.'

KY is now 8-2 but has a monster sched. They need to beat us and one of Texas, LSU, orr SC. Or could lose to us and win 2 of the big 3. Not likely.

Vandy and OK both have 5 losses and both have the tiebreak w us. Need both to lose 2 of their remaining games and they still have to play ea other. OK's sched is pretty favorable for them:
Vanderbilt (5-5): Miss St, Auburn, OK, SC, TAMU, Missouri
Oklahoma (6-5): Missouri, Vanderbilt, Arkansas Florida, Alabama
Most likely OK would have to lose to Vandy and Bama, while Vandy would have to lose to SC and someone else (not OK). Winner of the Vandy/OK game is going to have a big leg up. They play at OK a week fm Thurs.

Ole Miss has an outside chance w 4 losses after beating KY last night. Their game against us Sunday is huge. If they beat us, they could lose to LSU and SC and only have to beat Akry and Mizzu to get 4th. If we beat them and grab the tiebreak, they'd have to beat both LSU and SC. Not happening.

Bama has 4 losses and will have either beat us and one of LSU or OK; or lose to us and beat both LSU and OK. Also not likely

We have to win out for any of this to matter. Any SEC loss for us now sends us probably somewhere 6-8 and makes hosting in the NCAA less of a sure thing and more dependent on outcomes of SEC tourney.
