Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

I’ll never support Ole Miss as long as they keep that weirdo Q on their staff, but it’s always a good day to see LSU lose — especially to an unranked team!

Maryland and tOSU in an absolute dogfight in OT. Maryland hits a 3 with 1 second to go to grab the lead. Andddddd they win!

Normally I would be rooting for a Baylor L, but in this case I’ll be pulling for them to beat TCU. I am a staunch Sedona Prince hater.

Amen to that re: Ole Miss. I was yelling about him being on our court during game play when they came here. Lost a lot of respect for Yo.

Really? Warranted, or no?

Why would you really question this? First team all-American status is the criteria to be in the Huskies of honor. She is a 2 time recipient, and will be in there this year as well. Maybe you are thinking on jersey retirement in which UConn has the strictest qualification in the country: Induction in the Naismith Hall of Fame. At this time, only Lobo and Swin Cash currently have their numbers retired.

If you are named to the first team All-American and graduate from UConn, you get put up on the wall. It’s an honor but Paige is the 23rd UConn WBB player to go up on that wall, so it’s not the same rarified air as a jersey retirement (like Lobo and Swin).

Whoops, @StorrsCentral beat me to it.

This is helpful! I was a little skeptical when I read the headline, but I did not realize the criteria.

Kim not going to play her in SEC tournamen.
Tv person calling the game said.that during their vs LSU
Angel Reese badly sprained her ankle in the Sec tournament against Aurburn and Kim let her play the next day with no rest, that decision cost them a chance to repeat last year, since she never had a chance to heal.

Kim LSU coach I not been a cheerleader of hers on here.

But the doctor's clear a player first and then up to the players/ coaches to deside when to play.

Women SEC tournament is week before men's SEC tournament . So women get extra week between SEC and NCAA tournaments.

Training staff clear Angel to play they must have thought she was heal enough not to do hurt in worse or they shouldn't have clear Angel to play.

Maybe Kim LSU coach has learned but Kim only made part of the decision.

From my memory of Iowa vs LSU semi final national championship game. Angel was moving fine early in that game and then she reinjured her ankle.
Not have the information the doctor's told Kim/Angel.
Can not know if Kim letting her play was a bad decision or not.
