Posters over here are probably going to talk about the banner from time to time. I would have ignored it this time if it hadn't happened in the middle of our Portal thread. I don't care what is said in the non Lady Vol thread I seldom go there with anything except game schedules and scores.

Even though you don't support our team I do pull for the Lady Vols. The last few times our teams have met its been down to the wire and that's great for growing the sport. Y'all should hang a banner in honor of Cardoso. Thanks to her bank shot y'all got a nice coaching upgrade.

Not a bias I don't support any other team only University of Tennessee. As far as participation banners we don't hang them you do. I don't care that you do. If the Ref doesn't let Fulwiley double dribble down the court holding the ball twice would have been no shot. Game we shouldn't have even been in but talent is coming and it is coming quickly.

only time I pull for usc would be if they were playing fla, UGA, or bama. But never for the lady gamehens... :)

I would agree with that assessment for the baseball and softball seasons, but the basketball seasons? The entire regular season came to its conclusion. Kansas men and South Carolina women were both almost unanimous #1s at the conclusion of the season.

The Championship of Life insult isn't really landing, it just shows that you're missing the point if you really think that's a fitting response to a 32-1 team finishing #1 in the nation.

It lands if you know sports, so casual sports fans need to exit before pursuing. The fact you’re defending the banner does show insecurities as a program and fanbase.

And granted, that may be part of why the insult isn't landing. Would make some sense.

And the fact that it doesn't land helps to make it clear quite how ridiculous it is to compare Butch Jones' chokejob at UT to a 32-1 season in basketball.

Rest assured there would be more and at other schools but thankfully we've only had one pandemic in which the NCAA called off March madness. No doubt in my mind had the LV's gone 32-1 and ranked #1 when the playoffs were canceled your institution would have found a similar way to honor the team. If you don't understand that concept then you have no grasp of human compassion in sports.

I find it interesting that none of our most popular South Carolina fans knew about the banner being taken down. Or if they did, didn't want to admit it.
If the report about the banner being taken down is accurate, then "human compassion" seems to have a relatively short life span in Gamecock country.

Why on God's big, beautiful green earth are y'all still arguing about this on another team's message board? If you're looking for complete adulation for your program with zero criticism, I'm not even sure you'll find that on a South Carolina message board. But definitely not on a Lady Vols board.

Let people cringe if they want to cringe. Enjoy your titles or something. Goodness.

Never was an issue until A few Chicken fans thought they could come over here and control the narrative of this site. That Vol fans can't post anything they please when they please. It didn't happen this time and it never will. Fine if they want to come over here to post on this thread why it is here. I would've named it opponents, but all non Vol fans know what it is for. Trying to control the narrative of what Vol fans want to talk about anytime they want to do it is not going to happen.

If you don't want to hear our side of the covid banner then don't keep bringing it up. We don't need to bring it up and never will but don't start the crap talk about our banner and expect us to remain silent.
