I watch that game yesterday like most of you, and while CT did eventually crash and burn and take the loss, there were also quite a few moments in the game they looked really good. That one post player had a nightmare of a game and couldn't make a bunny, but Ododo looked pretty good to me much of the time. Both Evina and Crystal had some nice moments as well.
For the majority of the game, even, I thought CT found enough cohesiveness, and had enough talent, to beat GT (and most future opponents), but it was that recently-developed case of mental weakness that did them in. They are not enjoying the games, and they are not are no longer confident they are going to win the tight ones.
We here recognize this all too well, because it was what happened to Tennessee a few years ago.
FORTUNATELY, we have a staff and a group of players now that have changed course completely from that time and that tendency to panic, and our program is well on its way back to having its old swagger.
I think everyone who is certain and hoping CT is done for the year are likely in for a huge disappointment. They've got plenty of time to get players back and work on chemistry before they really have to panic. They are, IMO, nowhere near that point yet, and I predict they'll start with a win against UCLA.
