Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

It is amazing how UCONN, with all their all americans, has struggled so much this year on offense. Now with Paige out of the lineup, they are probably going to look like we did against USF every game. That should be fun to watch Geno squirm.
Depaul beat UK by 4 points. I love Kyra's personality and as a LV but am not sure how she will cut it as a head coach once her star graduates.

Look at Uconn team now and compare them with most teams. They still look like top 10 team, but they're playing like top 30 team with all 5stars players. Sad sad

Wow UConn looked completely average. That is the way NOT to respond to major injury. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, Geno is able to pull together.

Whatever happiness GT's win brings Tasha Butts is the best thing about the game for me.
🙏 🙏 🙏

I'd disagree...totally new deal for geno and his team. They lost quite a bit of qualified by game time talent this past week
So you think that a Paige-less team IS good? Because I don't see the individual or collective skills on the current roster to beat anyone in the top 10...possibly top 15.

Can we please stop sexualizing a teenager?

I’m impressed with her 19 3s. I wonder if she is related to Kelly Kohn? She was a blonde headed deadeye shooter at KU back in the day. Believe she had a sister that could really shoot it as well.
Thank you! It’s pretty creepy.
To be fair, the posts about this young lady seem to be in relation to a recent discussion of how NIL in women's game is going to reward appearance as well as skill. This definitely looks to be an example of that and the young lady seems to be aware of that aspect. I don't think anyone is creeping on a child.

I take issue with the fact that it’s coming up at all. NIL intention is for players to collect on their name, image and likeness. One would assume that is because they are playing well and drawing attention to their name via the sport. Not their external appearance.

The way everyone is talking recruiting is going to suddenly become a beauty contest? Heck have it! My team may have no billboards but we’ll have a banner lmao

Sad, but true...

Don't be naive. Do you really think the Cavinder Twins have made out with NIL deals more than Rhyne Howard or Aliyah Boston because they're playing well and are getting visibility by virtue of their on-court accolades? Or is it because they are attractive and cultivated a brand for themselves in which basketball is a minor part that?

Like it or not, image matters...and those players with the right "look" will be the ones to cash in, whether they are advancing the game or not. Not saying that's how it should be, but that's the way the world has operated for quite some time.

So poor Geno and his team refused to talk to the media. Wat a shame and low class Geno. It's early, he go get lots of losing and maybe out of top 25.

Not sure this is an entirely true statement...I edited no statements on the subject. The issue, imo, was why jump on forum members for marginally sexualizing photos of a propsect, when then the source of the sexualization was @womenshoops.

I had someone else's edited comment in mind, so I shouldn't have used the plural "comments"

The whole profile of the ball handlers has changed. Can't believe I'm here defending Geno...

I don't disagree with that. But what they had left should have been good enough to beat GT, in spite of losing their two PGs. Evina is good enough at PG that she should have been able to lead the offense. Maybe not against a Louisville or SC, but enough to beat GT. They lost to Auburn, of all teams!

The censor gods are watching the Boneyard. It’s in meltdown! Apparently players were not made available to the media post game.
Not making players available post game to the media is not a good look. It strikes me as poor sportsmanship. Had you UConn won, I bet players would have been made available who would have bragged about overcoming adversity. GT deserved better from the UConn players.

She’s a junior in high school…it’s creepy, I don’t care how you try to slice it.
