Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

K-State is a tough team and Lee is a premier player. Baylor just isn’t that good this season though. They’re gonna lose several more conference games.

I’m not sure Kim ever lost to Kansas State.

The second game they played last season Baylor won by almost 40 and Lee had only 8 and 2 against the same interior players. Tonight she had 32 and 10.

I’m watching SC play MSST and I gotta say, it looks a lot like the other night. If they play this lack luster against LSU the tigers will win. Kim gets them up emotionally haven’t seen them have a blah game yet. They have had some close ones, but they have been really competitive and come out on top more often than not.

They beat their third top 25 team today.

I would be shocked and concerned if SC does not go to LSU Thursday night and send a message. That place is going to be packed and LSU will have a nice little number by the name. These are the games SC is built for. The Missouri and Mississippi State game looked like SC was going through the motions. This will be LSU biggest game of the year. Will they rise or falter?

I have a feeling LSU might be the team with the message to deliver.

Oh, I think a message is going to be sent. Chickens had better hope it does not involve blood, feathers and cajun sauce.

On any given night you can lose at Ga they have been missing their center, Arkansas, Missouri SC fans, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, actually almost anywhere. You can have a bad performance from key players and lose. I wouldn't even call Vandy and Auburn easy as Vandy played Arizona to a two point game on a neutral court and Auburn has a win over UConn beating Ga. Tech. I'm not counting any road game Tennessee plays as a win until we actually win it that is how much I think this league has improved this season.

The coaching has really hit another level in the SEC the last few years. The SEC is leading the way in women’s basketball hires in the last few seasons.

So many talented younger coaches and then you add Mulkey back to the mix. Within a few seasons it’s likely Schaefer will be back. 5 of the top 10 coaches in WBB are going to be in the SEC.

You know something I don’t? I presume he’ll retire at Texas unless something isn’t going right. I could maybe see him going back to MSST if he’s not getting along with the Texas AD or something. Feel like he burned a lot of bridges in Starkville with the way he left though.

I am hoping we can keep up in recruiting because Mulkey will get the players and Georgia is getting them as well. Ole Miss looks to be making some moves on some top players as well. We have to get an elite bunch this year as when teams start getting the talent that SC has SC will start losing a lot more than they are now. I think it is going to happen with a lot of teams hoping were one of them. You can go up fast or down fast in recruiting.

The school he did not burn a bridge at is Texas A&M and guess who has a coach retiring at the end of the season... just saying might be something to watch out for is all 😁

For any who says well he just got to texas look how Brenda Freese used Minnesota for a year to get to MD and the ACC which was becoming a real women's basketball power at the time.

I thought he wanted to be at A&M but that doesn't seem to be happening even with the retirement.

Texas can pay top dollar but if the fit ain't right ... Now he may stay but Texas A&M has a large part of his heart that's all i'm saying. Winning a Big 12 championship with texas this year may help cement him staying there (although they will be in the SEC soon).

His Alma Mater is Texas A&M and Gary Blair has announced this will be his last year there, so he could certainly jump ship to A&M if the money is right.

I just don’t see that happening. Could, but I have a feeling he stays in Austin. He already has Texas playing well and it’s his hometown. At his age he needs to pick a school and stick if he wants to win a championship before he’s done.
