Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Is it fair to say this soon that this is the most exciting tournament ever? To actually be sitting here feeling so completely uncertain when predicting outcomes of any games now is just crazy fun. It's one of those "I didn't know how much I needed this until I had it" moments in life.

It feels like some kind of karmic portal has opened up and is funneling all the basketball gods toward the games featuring the long-suffering mid-majors to help them, and sending the big, bad P5 favorites home. What a weekend!

They (SD and Baylor) started a basketball game and ended up in a football game. Wow! That was one of the roughest games I’ve ever seen!

Haha! I agree. The tournament has been so exciting. These early round games have been INTENSE. Some of these games have felt like second weekend games.

Hopefully the karmic portal opens up for the long-suffering Lady Vols!

No, Iowa State playing at home right now at home. Since both Iowa and Iowa State were top 16 seeds, both get to host.

I can’t believe some of y’all convinced that mid major recruits aren’t that good I’d take these mid majors any day of the week now ……..like can we have Gonzaga’s PG???

People just don’t study the game beyond recruiting services, AAU games, and media coverage enough to get the true picture of team sports. Truth is, a very high percentage of the top professional and collegiate athletes weren’t highly recruited out of HS.

As for this player, I didn’t watch them today but it’s been proven that a top level college D1 athlete can compete anywhere. I’m happy with J.Walker and have extremely high expectations from Brooklynn Miles for the next 3 years. Walker played outstanding against the 4th leading scorer in the Nation. Miles, is going to be the next Diamond Johnson at PG. Then factor in newcomer Powell.. that right there is a nice trio.

I would also add Iowa St to the list.

People talking over the fact that this season Tennessee has whooped one team that has already advanced to the Sweet 16 in Texas, and another team Kansas who Tennessee whooped is battling with #1 seed Stanford.

She has all the tools. I’ve been waiting to see her minutes increase all season. Kaiya is a player I’m definitely rooting for too!
