Very well said. Thank you.I don't have anything against Evina Westbrook, and will always remember her primarily for how excited and proud she was to be a Lady Vol leading up to her freshman season. She wanted so very much to be instrumental in leading Tennessee back to prominence. It touched my heart how sincere she was ... how innocently optimistic she was.
Fast-forward a couple of years later, after the wheels had fallen off the head coach's bandwagon, and suddenly a controversy-hungry journalist is shoving a microphone into the face of a young person, still sweating and hurting after a devastating season ending loss, pressing HARD for a quote from her.
IT STILL INFURIATES ME that she was put into that position. She tried, as I recall, to move on and to avoid answering. But the wolves wanted fresh meat, and they finally used the kid to get some.
All these years later and I'm still mad over that. And then the way the Tennessee fanship twisted what happened into a reason to attack her still bothers me even more. Ugh. I mean, I can't stand Connecticut, but I couldn't blame her at all for going there after having been so grossly (IMO) mischaracterized for something she said that I always felt strongly that she had hoped might help save, not harm, the Lady Vol legacy. But then afterward she was attacked. It was awful.
So, yeah. Just like I would want ANY young person who is given a chance to succeed in a job they're given regardless of where they went to school, when EW gets a job at the next level I hope her team does well unless a LVFL is on the other team. That's it!

This x100. I always thought the interview was unfair, and unfairly interpreted. she's dancin longer than anyone on TN. Isn't that the point of your hate of a great player? Cuz she isn't dancin with you?
Ugh. I hate when we do this. Puts us exactly on par with the SC fans who make fun of Pat's disease. If we think Geno has the disease of alcoholism, which we absolutely don't know, making fun of it is a million miles out of bounds IMO.
And that is the core truth of the Evina saga. God bless your compassion, @lvocdHer heart was broken and she reacted.
Name one fan of SC who made fun of Pat....show me that low life human. I am sure you can't and you are just saying this. If you show me one, I will personally call them the POS they really are....so show me the facts of this horrible accusation.Ugh. I hate when we do this.
