North Carolina is an 8th seed and this is their 1st FF appearance since 2017. This is just Dook's 3rd FF in 18 years.I think that mostly referred to the second-tier teams outside the top 3. The top-tier, star-loaded teams basically divide up the best players in the country while everyone else tries to land one top 20 player if possible. As mentioned, if those top teams stay healthy, they can just out-talent other teams the way we used to do when we had our pick and were basically competing for players against one or two others while the rest settled for what was left.
It's the same with the men. Any surprise that Duke, North Carolina, and Kansas are in their Final Four?
SC was the one that cancelled the game, not UConn.
UConn moved up the S curve because LSU, Michigan, and Iowa State lost games to teams ranked below them. They were #6 overall, so that puts them vs. NCST. If those teams I mentioned hadn't lost (or only lost to other teams on the top 8), then UConn couldn't have moved up into Bridgeport.
Me either. That’s one big reason I do not watch their games, including this one.Bueckers is just annoying. Can’t stand her.
Total BS NC State has to play as the 1 seed in an environment like this. So glad they are changing things next season. This is just stupid. Even the DJ is obviously pro UCONN wtf?
That wasn't offensive execution from UConn. That was just some superb individual play from Bueckers.
Stanford and SC's defense/rebounding/post play will give them the advantage against UConn. Bueckers will need to play even more out of her mind than she did tonight for UConn to win.
Try telling that to voltopia….lolSC was the one that cancelled the game, not UConn.

Hey, I'm the one who has been saying CT will win it all (if B is back) for months, and there are obviously reasons I'd say that. I may be misremembering, but I think you may have been one of those who kept saying no way. Lol[/QUOTE}
This is Stanford's tournament to lose. If Stanford plays to its ability, they win back-to-back titles.
I really love Van Lith's game. You can feel her intensity through the TV screen. Just a great player who's playing her best at the most important part of the season. Engstler was another great pickup for Walz. They aren't the biggest team, but they must feel like they are all 7 ft tall with the way they get after the ball.And better have your head on a swivel trying to guard their halfcourt offense.
Just a well-coached team...
Hadn't noticed. But I don't mind players that show some passion for the game.
