Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Lol missed your post! Welcome back and you’re most certainly correct, they’re going to be quite a problem!
What a season in front of WBB fans, plenty of title contenders and I suspect some new teams to surface as well. Let’s enjoy the game of WBB getting better and better.

I suspect Cook will spend plenty of time at PG this season, which she is good at and which she wants to do to prep for the WNBA imo. If Raven comes back faster than expected, she should share the PG spot with Fletcher mostly. It’s still not a settled question due to the injuries Raven and Fletcher are coming off. Cooper is gonna get minutes at SG…

The real interesting playing time considerations come from the front court, where Boston, Saxton, Cardosa, Feagin, Amihere and even Watkins all seemingly could compete for All SEC honors with enough minutes. Beal plays SF also, and her minutes still seem guaranteed, so the front court players will need to produce to earn their minutes. Feagin looks ready for a big jump. I am personally not confident Cordosa has the aggressiveness to ever be dominant, more of a complimentary piece until she shows a mean streak imho. Feagin might jump her this year as she is showing that aggressiveness in her second year.

While the guard play may be a process I’m sure Dawn has more than enough up her sleeves to make it work lol but that front court is dangerous. I completely get why at some point it may be 3 of them in the floor at once. I’m really excited to see how SC develops over the year and super anxious for Zia because I think she has to step up this season and show something. My faves are Brea and LA; LOVE their games. Defense will never fail you and LA is just versatile and the potential is through the roof. Aliyah gone Aliyah.

Good luck this season against everybody that’s not a Lady Vol 🖤 can’t wait to watch.

I think this season overall is going to be better than last by a mile as far as quality teams

did not play. both pgs were held out of the game. Yeah, it makes me nervous with Maryland on the road one week from today
They have lost two WNBA points guards in the last 3 years. South Carolina is very vulnerable this year. Without consistent PG play you do not win championships. I have been saying this for months. With the way coach Abe coaches defense, that Early Georgia/SC matchup may be very interesting. She brought some good defensive pieces from UCF and found some more. Should be telling.

Understand what you are saying, but the UGA Lady Bulldogs prob not a big story this year in the SEC…SC has PG’s, the question is if they can get the same production from the current options that Henderson gave. Have to wait and see.. I will say this, Bree Hall is going to pop this year in the 2/3 spots and I look for Feagin to pop at the 4/5 spots. Cooper will not be a silent frosh on the bench and will be a contributor at the 2 spot.

SC just needs to figure out the PG rotation between Cook, Fletcher and Raven.

GT, she stepped up big time in March also, when legends make their marks….hard to replace that kind of clutch. She was the straw as you said that stirred the drink, and the drink was and is Boston until it isn’t, but I get your point man.

Hey GT, are you on cable or streaming services? I have cable with Spectrum, and last season signed up for a few streaming services also, and downloaded some apps on Hulu and also ESPN to watch even more WBB…I got to see Uconn games as well as many other P5 games I would not get normally on cable, had to pay to join those services but at this stage in my life I don’t really quibble, if I want to watch something I figure out how to do so and don’t begrudge a few bucks here and there anymore.

B10 games are broadcasted on Spectrum cable though and I suppose many others as part of the sports package. A smart IT guy will come on soon here and tell us both how to do it most cost effectively.

Don't think they can match what Henny gave, but they'll give enough.

Maybe NeedsOrange, but watch the season early, might surprise you. SC is going to play a ”bigs” game this season, but there is room for some great guard play. GL trying to rebound with SC or defend with them unless you are built like Stanford or Tennessee. Uconn will slide through Big East again, but as Geno said, he worries about their OOC matchups defensively. For good reason I suspect.

Uconn won’t be able to compete on the Boards imo, or down low. They will have to shoot lights out from perimeter all season, and hope or pray they don’t get overwhelmed down low on the offensive and defensive boards. Geno knows this. He has said so now many times the past few weeks.

Kitts was one of the better players I saw in the tourneys. I imagine Louisville is in a bad mood today looked like she was going there and SC just got a lot better in coming seasons.

@xtpsrh08123 i know you were asking for receipts from Ballout so here is one mentioned awhile ago on there (it had more with her decommittment from Louisville). Since it's now public wanted to give you a receipt 😃

I appreciate your follow-up.
Just one problem.
How can it be confirmed that she was a " silent commit" to Louisville ?

How can it be confirmed that she was a " silent commit" to Louisville ?

That's easy. She told no one, not even Jeff. He could confirm, when he's not busy giving offers to eighth graders, that he heard absolutely nothing about a commitment.
It was a Harpo Marx style tour de force of a tacit commitment. And furthermore, she said nothing. o_O:cool:

Predicting the past is always so much harder than foretelling the future.
