Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Yep. Definitely was looking forward to this game.

Vandy hasn’t played great which tells me a lot about LSU. Also all teams including those in the Top 10 seem to play the hardest when they face Tennessee.
I think that’s something our players and coaches kind of have always had to mentally prepare for which is why I believe Coach Caldwell keeps a chip on her shoulder!

We have to play them in that atrocity of a gymnasium, too. At least it will be in front of a split crowd.

Vandy did get beat badly by Ole Miss and Kentucky. I don’t think how they played tonight will make a difference against Tennessee because honestly they didn’t look good but played hard for four quarters.
The Tennessee team that shows up that day will determine the outcome.

One thing I can say now looking ahead at the Vandy game, CKC can’t let Puckett guard Pierre.
I’m not saying Puckett won’t be effective in this game particularly on the offensive end but she better be playing alongside Latham, Hollingshead, Spearman, Ayodele, and not matched up 1 on 1 in the post in that four guard lineup at no point in this game.

So. You and @newladyvolfan. I guess that qualifies as “we”.

Haven’t seen anybody else sign up for that deal.

If the staff sez okay, I’m in. 😉🤙🏼
Don't even have a clue what you're talking about. I responded to "Who's We" don't know what rest of dialogue was, because I really don't care what the conversation was about with NLVF..

There was discussion regarding potentially seeking to sign McMiller and Ashley Watkins. I’m not sure that’s a good idea due to “issues”.

You’re all good. NLVF has a random list of about twenty folks we should chase after. Typical.

I took your interjection of “us” as an agreement with NLVF.

🥰🤙🏼

What happens to players who fall off the court? Must have been designed by a Clemson architect.
Googled it up. Edwin Keeble, Vandy grad. Designed the Life and Casual building in downtown Nashville also.

LSU plus 14 making seven more field goals lost a lot of that by getting outscored at the free throw line by six and Vandy had two more threes. A game where both teams shot evenly and turnovers were even. LSU bashed them on the boards by 14 offensive rebounds and overall 20 rebounds. Vandy free throw attempts kept it close. Evidently no one could guard Moore of Vandy as she came in shooting 37 percent, but in this game shot 60 percent and made five threes. She got to the free throw line 8 times.

What Vandy is doing probably going to get us beat in Nashville. We like to foul way to much they can't get to the line 22 times against us will be hard to win if that happens. We have to find a way to not get called for fouls even if some may not look like fouls.

I don’t get the exaggeration of what Vandy can and will do suddenly. Vandy got blown out by Ole Miss and Kentucky.
Tennessee just needs to keep improving and play their game.
They can’t play and officiate the game it’s the ref job to call it even.
Last night LSU and Vandy got away with hand checking and touch fouls for whatever reason. It could’ve been due to getting an officiating crew that probably doesn’t call a lot of fouls.
The officials in our games where there’s been ton of fouls called if you watched them refereeing in other games they do the same thing.
So if those are the officials against Vandy then the results will be a lot of silly touch fouls being called against the LVs because no coach is going to tell their team to pull back on their defensive intensity.

I don't think you can sleep on any team in the SEC. Having said that, I think their three-point shooting is going to be worse because of fatigue from the press, and Blakes had nine turnovers. I would have Talaysia on Blakes, and I would just let her drive up her steals stats. I also have to assume the crowd is going to be relatively split. I know we are going to the game, and I know a few other Tennessee fans who are as well. Pierre is good, but Jill, Lyss, and Zee all seemingly took the lessons from the LSU game to heart.

Have to keep them off the foul line and that is how you beat them handily. If we stop fouling and letting people shoot free throws we win handily. If not it could go either way.

The Oklahoma game it was 11 to 2 at the foul line get upset everytime I see that total. we should've won that game. LSU 12 to 12 so it was a fifty fifty game they win it making a last shot.
