Non-Lady Vol news 2018-19

After watching the replay of the game a few>7 times, I have re-evaluated the content that Harris brought to the court. She only played about 7 minutes, had maybe 1 tipped pass, a rebound and helped out in the zone on defense. She completely missed her only shot attempt from 3 feet away, didn't even hit the rim. And she was out of gas and looking to the bench 4 minutes into her stint of play.
imho, that is not enough for a 3rd year player to give. I was also disappointed with C Green's play.

The right words...That's all it takes

Will be interested to watch how Baylor plays defensively against A. Smith of Stanford. I didn't realize what an amazing season she is having. Checks into the Baylor game with an eff of 37.37 which is awesome. She is close to 49 percent from the three for the season and 59 from the field. I think she is the main player you have to stop in their lineup although they are very balanced. Hard to understand how Gonzaga beat them although it was a road game and we've had our close calls against lesser teams this season. I look for this game to be a great matchup look forward to watching it tomorrow after the Vols Men's game at Memphis.

They lost the Gonzaga game on the boards. They were out rebounded by 12 or 14. Their best rebounder, Lexi Hull, has been our with an injury. If they haven’t figured out the boards they will have trouble with Baylor. Smith is an excellent player though. She played very well for Australian National Team over the summer.

Yes, she can dunk but her height 6'1, I wonder what she can do with that to dunk much in college or in pro. What I'm after is,she better be a great player because dunking is just as a point.

End of first quarter Stanford 17 Baylor 13. Stanford already attempted 8 threes made 2. The Big player Brown has had he shot blocked two times she doesn't get two inches off the floor on shot attempts.

Stanford 41 Baylor 24. Stanford nailed them with the three point shot in that quarter. Game is on Pac 12 network.

One thing for sure Stanford is going to shoot the three 7 of 20 for the game missed their first seven shots then went on a 7 for 13 run.

Game definitely isn't over IMO Baylor could pound them on the boards if they were a mind to. They are settling for outside jumpers and no one can make one. They will have to come out strong in the third quarter or this game is over.

Stanford 58 Baylor 42 after three quarters. Mulkey says Baylor should be embarrassed with their play and yes they should. They look like thee just had a Thanksgiving dinner no energy at all very weak performance. Stanford is hitting 11 threes in this game most have been unchallenged. Hope Tennessee is watching to beat Stanford you must stop the three game. Smith has five I think she is automatic when left open.

Baylor finally decided to try and play showing some energy. Stanford 60 Baylor 52 six minutes left.

I have wondered the same thing. Does anyone know why Cox and Brown had bad offensive games? Did Stanford double them? Nice seeing a coach use strategy to stop the opposing team’s best players.

Stanford 68 Baylor 63 final. Stanford 13 of 30 from the three. You can't give them the three that is the only way we can lose and of course poor shooting. Baylor out rebounds them 43 to 30 should've been worse. Very bad performance by Baylor clearly the more talented team but didn't really care to play in the first half of the game got behind by 17 and of course winning the second half by 12 still makes you the loser.

Brown got her first two shots blocked then got two fouls and went to the bench. Cox two fouls went to the bench. Second half Mulkey decided against Cox and went with Smith which proved to be a good decision as she played very well. Brown couldn't make a layup all game and wasn't that impressed with her today. Brown 2 of 7 on the day.

If I was Mulkey Cox out as a starter and Smith in much more talented player.

South Dakota vs. Missouri don`t sleep on South Dakota they lead Missouri 47-39 in the 3rd

I know this isn’t the 2019 recruiting thread but u seem to have insight into Ms. Key. Is she hurt ?

i think so but i`m not sure she has not played the last 3-4 games like i said i could be wrong Note there is nothing on the web about her being hurt.

I really hope she gets to play and help her team this season and post season. Especially before she gets to UT.

Looks about right...lot of players I don't recognize, so nice to see that they are receiving some publicity. The fact that Jessica Shepard is in the 20s and all the players above her (based on profile) had a reasonable argument to be here speaks to the quality of players they've chosen.

Disagree

an earlier thread asked about offense for UT. rewatch South Dakota if you want to watch a team executive their offense with timing and with patience. Their win against Missouri was not a fluke they were the better team. And to refer to the Stanford remarks MO took over 30 threes.
