I try my best not to pile on an individual player…but dude is out of control and has serious potential to cost us…

I’m floored that his “hand check” on van de Griff wasn’t 15yds…absolutely should have been and likely would have been against a team with more clout like Bama or UGA…just a downright stupid and unnecessary thing to do…

His 15yd face mask was completely unnecessary…wasn’t an accident at all…he did it to rip the guys helmet off…extended the drive which would bite us against UGA or in the playoffs…

Rewatch the game and notice what he did almost every time he got near the UK bench…ran at them like he was about to do something…just asking for some s*** to start which with his reputation is just as likely to be a flag on him as it is anyone that retaliates…

Again, I hate to pile on but dude is downright out of control…I understand it’s a violent game and you have to play with an edge but it has to have some level of control to it too…with our depth and talent at DL and his slightly above average talent level (i.e. not enough to warrant the risk) I don’t understand why he sees the field

I've been thinking the exact same thing with his extra curricular activity over this season.

I don't remember that extra crap from last year.

Not sure what is going on there but he needs to consider how his reaction could negatively affect great plays otherwise.

I'm sure happy he didn't actually make contact with the ball during the Bama game when he feigned kicking it and came awfully close.

He sees the field because he is a force out there!

I 100% agree that all that extra crap he has been doing needs to be addressed immediately! Like leave him on the sideline this coming game and ask him how he likes watching from there, and if any more happens he will be watching from home.

How dumb can he be? Does he think NFL GM’s want that garbage on their roster? He doesn’t need to do all that. He has all the tools of a great DL.

Would be nice to see Heupel stop the post play individual celebrations, this is the SEC, act like you have been there before, at this level, with this program, in this conference, excellent play is expected, not optional, but everybody wants to make an ESPN highlight, but the hardest lick came from the Kentucky linebacker that jarred our tightend's preserves, resulting in a dropped ball in the end zone,

He’s quickly becoming someone who I wouldn’t care to see leave, much like Kamal Hadden was in his behavior on the field.

Two things:

Of all the UT coaches I'd trust to see and correct a problem, Rodney Garner would be my first choice. Where's Rodney on this?

Is he early CTE? Dumb, inappropriate behavior. Failure to control emotions. I wonder what his behavior is like off the field.

His unnecessary facemask penalty after sacking the QB on 4th down with 3:44 left in the game cost us an easy touchdown that would have ended the game. Dude literally pulled the QB's helmet off for no reason.
Wiped his sack away, also. Hopefully that resonates.

What’s the penalty against Vandagriff? Lott was in the orange, out of bounds and didn’t move to initiate contact. He’s watching a player run full speed at him…Vandagriff was 6 feet into the extended white of the sideline. Lott has a right to protect himself…no flag would have been thrown had Vandagriff slide/ran into and taken out Lott. Hands extended and Vandagriff already going down makes it look worse than what it is.

I didn't think it was as bad as it looked. He barely made contact with him and Vandagriff just fell down. He still put himself in position to get flagged by sticking his arms out, but it didn't look like so over aggressive act.

The face mask was more unfortunate. I think he knew he the refs saw it and was more upset that he got caught then anything. Obviously not a good play, but I doubt it was intentional. Just made a mistake.

Dude was slowing up…Lott put his hands out instead of up and clearly shoved when contact occurred…as far as protecting himself…just step to the side…it’s that simple…no risk of injury or penalty

I agree that it wasn’t much but we’ve all seen WAY less than that called for 15…it can and will cost us if it’s allowed to continue

I don't think it should have been a penalty protecting himself and possibly keeping Ky.
QB from injury....the facemask
shouldn't have happened
You make good play and it's negated by penalty....not smart

He can slow up all he wants, Lott can still protect himself. Lott was on the Tennessee sideline…he was not in the extended sideline of the 6 feet which would have changed the rule. Football isn’t a gentlemen’s sport, no reason to step aside.

Had he thrown an elbow to the head, launched a shoulder…sure. Hands up, play ball.

I am surprised it was not flagged. He went to the extreme....

He has had some boneheaded plays for sure, but he is an extremely valuable player on the best d-line in the country. PFF did a recent mock draft and had him as a top 20 pick, 19th overall.

Per PFF-
"The Cardinals are inconsistent but display flashes of promise each week. The interior defensive line needs help, and while Norman-Lott is a new name to the first round of mock drafts, the 6-foot-3, 315-pound redshirt senior boasts a 20.7% pass-rush win percentage this season — higher than any of the top draft-eligible interior defensive linemen."

20.7% pass rush win rate. He is affecting the game and winning his match-ups. I wish he would clean some things up but it's not like he is just some scrub making costly mistakes. He is making an impact for this team even if it's not necessarily reflected in stats.

I had no issue with what occurred with the Kentucky player on the sidelines where Norman Lott was where he was supposed to be and doing nothing wrong. He plays with some flare and sometimes I think he could tone it down a bit because it can be a detriment, but there was nothing wrong with what happened on that sideline play.

Im sure a sideline player technically has a right to defend himself but I'm not sure how they enforce the rule there.

Lott was lucky he didn't get an unsportsmanlike penalty there.
I'm honestly surprised they didn't flag him either, but I would have argued like heck with the officials had they flagged him and I am Heupel. Luckily they didn't.

Anyone saying “he was protecting himself” lacks the ability to see anything without orange colored glasses on. You can even see in the replay he lunges himself forward to get more on it. Had that been Nico the same people saying “he had the right to protect himself!” Would be losing their minds and demanding the SEC suspend whoever did it to Nico.
