This can't be true. It would not support our need to freak out and make up crap about how doomed we are and how our lackluster recruiting and coaching means we can't be relevant.

Go back and try again. Bring us some facts that we can manipulate to support our ridiculous assertions.

Ehhh. I disagree. Go back and watch the OSU film. Karic and Heard were awful. Maybe not as bad as Spraggins and Campbell but Heard's play was not at the level that it needs to be . Im hopeful Karic's quest for another year of eligibility is denied

Over the last 10 years in the SEC, only half of eventual starting OL get their first starter minutes before their RS-JR or SR year. 9% break in as FR, 24% as SO/RS-FR, 17% as JR/RS-SO, and 26% as SR/RS-JR, and 24% don't start until they're RS-SRs. The trend is pretty consistent across the FBS, and the numbers hold up for the likes of Bama / Georgia / etc. as well.

If we consider 2022 Heupel / Ellarbee's first shot at real recruiting class, those guys wouldn't hit that RS-JR / SR benchmark until next year.

Addison Nichols: Starter at Arkansas (2024)
Brian Grant: TBD (37 snaps this year)
Masai Reddick: TBD (0 snaps)
Maurice Clipper: Gone

2023 / SO (Expect to contribute in 2026):

Ayden Bussell: TBD (62 snaps)

2024 / FR (Expect to contribute in 2027):
Jesse Perry: TBD (72 snaps)
Max Anderson: TBD (47 snaps)

I also want to note, we had 4/6 (66%) of our freshman OL and 3/4 (75%) of our sophomores get 40+ snaps. The SEC averages for those years are 37% and 47% respectively.

All this to say, yes - we haven't had Ellarbee recruits break into the starting lineup. That said, given the way OL progress in the SEC, you wouldn't really expect to see that happen until next year. Granted, the 2022 crop doesn't look especially close, but both the 2023 and 2024 groups are ahead of schedule in terms of snap counts, and the 2024 group in particular looks like one of the best freshmen groups in the country.

The L.O.S is the most sought after positions in the sport. It’s very, very hard to recruit 5 stars at those positions bc every team in the nation is gunning for them. What worries me is the development at those positions.

Yes, they lost to Michigan. Even elite teams can play bad games. Not sure how do you are unaware of that.

And yes, Ohio State is probably the most talented team in the country. I imagine almost everyone would’ve agreed to that in the preseason

Yeah my first post a week or so back, maybe longer I said the starting OL would be that. Had some people say Thompson wouldn’t play RT because we need to play the younger guys lol.

But I agree with this.

Guess you missed the point.
All I heard on here for 2 weeks was we are gonna beat them.

All I’ve heard after was how much more talent they have than anyone. And we shouldn’t even expect to beat them.

We shouldn’t have. We were underdogs for a reason. Fans have unrealistic expectations at times.

No it’s not. The fans talking sht with unrealistic expectations that don’t won’t to talk about the truth.

The loss was a result of more talent, but that wasn’t the only reason. But they want to go silent on that.

It was a taller than haites task to go into that environment, against that team, with this team and win. Not Bama, Not Georgia, (yes I said it!), would have won there. Esp with how they played.

That said, whilst self reflecting, we need to make some changes to get to the necks level. As Bra put it, take care of bidness at Arkansas and you are hosting at Neyland.

Do any of us honestly believe what happened in Columbus, would've happened at Shields Watkins? We sent 35K to Columbus for an ass whippin'! Shiiii.

Indiana would've **** the bedpan.

Karic was Tennessee’s 2nd best OL this year after Mays. But you want to kick him to the curb because he had a bad game against the #1 defense in America on a night when everyone had a bad night. Okay.
