Emotional maturity falls short for many people, unfortunately.I'm seeing a very similar situation to last year at this time. Several depth players and players from and underwhelming position group heading to the portal and the same group of posters having the same type of meltdown about our perceived lack of portal participation while other programs are out buying players left and right. Very similar comments about the state of our program and how we are not serious about being a championship contender. When the smoke cleared, we signed two solid TEs, an All SEC CB, improved our quality of secondary depth and made the playoffs.
No kidding. It just does not register with me. I love my Vols, I want them to win every game, I do not like them getting embarrassed like what happened at OSU, but sweet jeebus. These pansy-a$$ acting ‘men’ need to get some perspective on life and understand that what our teams do or do not do has zero bearing on our day to day whatsoever.I wonder if those folks are that emotional in everyday life
I’m thinking there will be other options. I think Spyre has a price in mind for a guy. Probably would have went above that price even in this case. LSU went so far above it that it didn’t make sense financially to go over them. And I may entirely be looking at this through orange shades.I think keeping your first round quarterback isn't a stupid price
Nah you’re not wrong. It’s just this seems to happen every year. They have to push through eventually for someone (Mauigoa, Seaton, Thompson, etc). And then Elarbee hasn’t developed a soulI’m thinking there will be other options. I think Spyre has a price in mind for a guy. Probably would have went above that price even in this case. Not that I completely agree but you can get really good ready to play QB in the portal fairly easy. That is a lot of dead money sitting on the bench while these young qbs are learning to play at college speed.I mean we paid 8 million for a guy that never played a down of college football and sat him for an entire year. I’m not sure it gets much stupider than that
Yeah, and his NIL deal going public was really the first domino to fall that sent college football down the drain. Not that I completely agree but you can get really good ready to play QB in the portal fairly easy. So Nico not only brought down Tennessee football but college football overall?Yeah, and his NIL deal going public was really the first domino to fall that sent college football down the drain.
Also after what we just did with Boo they sure as hell better get their money’s worth with him this year. Because if he goes for 600-700 yards on offense with 6-7 TDs and is just decent on defense he’s going to be asking for double this time next year
the 7-8 guys with all-conference potential they began their portal shopping with
