Not another Bryce Brown thread...

Only if Kiffin was still coaching.. He never should have played his freshman year.. Poole is a much better RB

Bryce played injured his freshman year here and still looked better then Poole does now. Anyone that saw Bryce play in the Army AA game wouldn't question the competition he played in HS. I personally just don't think Bryce's heart is in it at KSU. I don't really have anything to base that on other then hearing various reports that he is just not applying himself. If Bryce would have stayed here he would be the starter and we probably wouldn't be talking about how bad our running game is. We will never know for sure though.

On a side not college officiating is awful. How the official could stand right in front of Miami's fourth down play and call it a touchdown is beyond me. Is replay making the officials worse?

I agree.
I think he would have likely been the starter at KSU if he had attended summer workouts.
Another bad decision on his part, assuming he made it.

:lolabove: you have to wonder if that will follow him all the way into and through his NFL career.

I doubt it...Dooley wouldn't put up with this prima donna

He was not a prima donna at practice from what I read, they seemed to like him. He got that tag after it came out he wanted to transfer, which i agree with the others, he did for family reasons not personal ones. I don't hold it against him, and wish him well. I see no reason for holding it against a player who wanted to be closer to his family, its understandable to me.

He seems like a bright kid with a lot of talent. At KSU he's in the doghouse for not attending summer workouts and other reasons, I would imagine he regrets transferring now.Poole was behind him on the depth chart here, I doubt that would have changed had he stayed.

i've given him hell, but good to see he, per the media, was healthy for this game. allowed him to not play a lick, per usual.

he'd start for the minnesota vikings.

Must be an incredibily close family to allow your father to make important decisions like where you play college football.

I keep thinking there must be a girl involved somehow, like a g/f he wants to be closer to. thats how it usually happens.

It was under 5 and he only broke 50 yards in 4 games.
South Carolina, Western Kentucky, Ohio, and Memphis. He also only had more that 5 ypc against western kentucky, Vanderbit, and South Carolina.

This doesnt make it seem like he is a sure thing to start.
We will never know, what we do know, is that he has gotten lazy at K state

Poole and Lane haven't averaged 5 this year, have they?

So because he played good against a bunch of high school players and he was a 5 star we automatically assume he would be the starter?

The players did think Poole was the better back and deserved to be the back up role.

Bryce Brown is guilty of having no backbone to his dad. He wanted to stay at UT and he would have been a solid player.

because he is not as good as advertised.. end of story

these comments about being in summer work outs etc. are wrong.. RB is not a position that you need time to learn a system.. if your the fastest guy on the field, your going to get the ball and make plays...

Apparently they forgot about Micheal Dyer, Marcus lattimore, Isiah Crowell, or Trent Richardson

Poole and Lane also have a lot worse line.

Seriously? It's been a while since anyone split hairs like that wrt the Oline.

j/s it's not like we've seen anything like the ones Jamal ran behind for quite a spell. That's the weakness in recruiting that was the most difficult to understand in the late CPF years.

You need to be in shape, which is the point of summer workouts.

I certainly agree...he just isnt as good versus college competition as he was against a bunch of slow white Kansas hs kids

Im not denying that at all, but at least those linemen were in the system for a while and got stronger. We had a second round draft pick and Aaron Douglas on there. Sullins bros werent good, but they were at least in the system to not make the mistakes our young ones are making.

And BB has one of those bodies that seem to have a lot of variability (e.g. in shape, he's a beast... let it slide, and I might be able to tackle him if I stayed low). :hi:

Tell Lincoln how good the Sullins bros were... it's still spliting hairs. We need some big nasty, ugly kids about as badly as we've ever needed them.

I don't dislike the kid and certainly wish him the best, but I believe he only played at UT as a freshman b/c it was part of the deal...not because he was ready. He did nothing to impress me his freshman yr. He looked capable against weaker talent, but was not the difference maker we thought he would be. Talented kid but just not the number 1 recruit in the nation, imo!

The K state coach has given BB all the opportunity in the world to be the main starter. He fumbled in the first game against EKU in only 3 carries...
Hes also third on the depth chart behind a juco runningback.

Tell Lincoln to kick the ball higher than 6 ft in the air. There is no excuse for Terrence Cody fat*** blocking your kick.

BB is better than Poole. So what? We've got Poole.

From what I've heard, BB busted his tail while at UT... until CDD showed up and CLK left.

His dad gets the wrap for his decision, but a good PR would find an girl in Kansas so football fans could relate to his choice better.

3 carries in the first game isn't much of an opportunity.

BB is a talented player with a very screwed up home life. If you think he wouldn't have gotten a lot of carries here last year or this year, I don't know what to tell you.
