Our play calling is suspect. The real match up was our running backs (or tight ends) against the NC State linebackers; we failed to exploit this advantage. We should have beat this team by 3 touchdowns.
Initially, I thought that we would have 10 wins this season; now, I say that we will be lucky to win 8.
We have the players, we just don't have the ability to exploit opportunities...and that is coaching.
I apologize for offending anyone with my posts.
I was simply disappointed in the fact that we did not exploit opportunities in order to sustain drives.
We have outstanding players, but do be successful in the SEC, we will need a more tactical approach to play calling.

My read was that the offense was pretty solid--as expected.
The defense played better than I expected.
It's early, but I'm more optimistic about the season now than I was before the game.
CDD's future hinges on this season.... if he can pull out 9 or 10 wins, he may be the guy who turns the program around.
From a coaching standpoint, you have to tip your hat a bit to him. He held/put this staff together without losing the last recruiting class--and overall, the players looked as though they were pretty well coached, especially for an opener.
Just saying... I try to be objective--and sometimes objective is more negative. This time, it's positive.
Great start, Vols! :hi:
