I just wish they join a conference that their at least tested during conference play. I know I know they play the best of the best all year but they can schedule those games to work in their favor in a sense. There is know competition in their conference which allows them to be ready to go come tournament time. The fact that they are 100-0 in conference games should say something. I know their other sports teams may not be able to compete in a Power conference but doing what essentially Notre Dame does may benefit the women's game.

100%. No question, they would still be a dominant team but in a power conference like the ACC, they would at least face genuine challenges during the conference run.

As it stands, they are Goliath and the "Davids" have no sling shots and suffer from degenerative arthritis.

They tried to join the ACC, but the ACC didn't want them because their football team isn't strong enough.

Try playing somebody for a change, 75% of Uconn wins come against NOBODY U.

UConn played 13 top 50 teams and 10 of the top 25. 60% would be more accurate.

The difference is that UConn plays in a crappy conference so they have to front load their OOC schedule playing tough games early on. However, I think Massey has their SOS at 3 so they must have played somebody.

100 wins in their conference is impressive...

Our girls could not beat 100 high school teams in a row....

For a change? They have beaten the current:

#3 Louisville
#5 Notre Dame
#7 South Carolina
#8 Texas
#9 UCLA

I'm not even counting the other Top 25 teams they beat and I didn't even count Stanford who was the #9 when they beat them. Don't be disingenuous. Give credit where it is due because even though UConn makes those teams in the AAC look bad that doesn't mean they won't give some other team a challenge.

You saw Tennessee play Alabama right? If so, then you would know that talent and the perceived weakness of an opponent doesn't guarantee you squat. You still have to bring it every game if you want that trophy. I wouldn't mind seeing UConn play the rest of the Top 10. I'm not saying it won't be competitive but given their success vs the Top 10 year in and year out I would still put my money on them.

Most of the arguments here were about the weak conference. I don't see how anyone would argue that they aren't very good! But seriously Cincy was the #4 seed in their conference and they were beating them 43-5 halfway through the 3rd quarter before the cheerleaders came off the sidelines to enter the game. UCONN has been on a different level for more than a decade. They beat good teams and they embarrass weak teams. Thats how great teams should play.

I feel no one plays pure (below the rim) basketball better than UCONN. I enjoy watching them play even in their conference blowouts on ESPN3 because their fundamentals are close to perfect. I only watch the UConn players to see how it is done. There is almost no weakness in their game on both ends of the floor.

They were much better than cincy, but I'm pretty sure Cincy was playing without their top player

Massey has Cincy ranked #98. They aren't very good! But they are still better than SEC rivals Florida (#117), Arkansas (#111), Vanderbilt (#146), and Mississippi (#140).

UCon should be ashamed of themselves for playing is such a sh!t hole conference which has only two good teams.

UCon gets to COAST through their conference games every single year ringing up an Unimpressive number of consecutive wins over Memphis, Cincy, Tulane, Wichita State, Houston, East Carolina, SMU, Temple, USF, and UCF.

Keep up the good work UCon while we watch the American CONference Tournament games played in the state of Connecticut.

I happened to catch UConn's game tonight, they looked a little more ordinary....

Yes, they only shot 50% from the field, 40 % from the 3 line with only 6 turnovers and 6 blocks and 12 steals. They played the usual 7 players.Cannot recall her name, but the other transfer player has gotten very little playing time.

They are beatable, only if you are a disciplined team and they would have to be off a bit on shooting percentage.

I wasn't aware they got to pick their conference. They shouldn't be ashamed for performing at the level they should. Now what would be shameful is if they weren't beating the teams they are supposed to, given the disparity in talent & coaching. UConn didn't get to pick it's conference and neither did Tennessee. No reason to feel bad (weak conference) or beat your chest (strong conference) about something you can't control.

You play who is in front of you to the best of your ability and let the chips fall where they may. As far as the "coasting" comment, apparently you haven't seen UConn play. I watch A LOT of basketball and I have seen plenty of coasting... not once I have seen coasting from a UConn player. Coasting is what you do when you are looking for an L and a seat on the bench. We get it Franklin Pierce, you hate them, they have it easy, so on and so forth, but from someone who claims they can't understand this thread you sure do seem to want to keep it going.

You and others can try and Spin the facts any way you want, but the competition in the American Conference is horrible, and Everyone knows it.

Maybe UCon should upgrade their football program so their women's basketball team can play in a legitimate conference.

The University of Tennessee CHOSE to be a founding member of the Southeastern Conference in 1932.

Yes, I hate UCon.

All of the UCon worshipers should move here or go to hell:

they are ordinary... so is every other team, or are they under-ordinary.
BTW who gave them "super powers" and didn't give other teams the same powers

Geno is on another level. GOAT. He has done everything faster than Pat Summitt has.

Too bad he cheats.

bet ya he ain't never milked cows or hoed tobacco, built fence or made corn jalapeno? And he damn sure never gave birth to a baby boy.

So, hasn't beat Pat at everything. :eek:lol:

Gule, you're a hoot! I think the best one on UCONN is Dangerfield, the Tenn marvel! She is by far the best PG in the country when she is healthy. Too bad she's only 5'5"

For the record, UConn tried to get into several top conferences, such as the ACC, but were rejected because they don’t have a a competitive, money-making football program. They did the best they could by joining the AAC.

The interesting thing with Uconn is that not only have they won their first 101 AAC games, but they play two or three games against the ACC every year and their last lost to an ACC team was in 2007. They also play one or two games against the other P5 conferences each year: Their last loss to a Big 10 team was 2004. Their last loss to a Big 12 team was in 2013. Their last loss to an SEC team before the MsSt final four loss was in 2007. Their last loss to a Pac 12 team was in 2013. And these are generally games played against the top 3 or 4 teams in any of these conferences so not the bottom dwellers. Drop Stanford and Baylor out of the equation and the last losses to a team in the Big12 or Pac 12 would date back a decade or more as well.

And yes - Uconn certainly didn't choose to be in the AAC over one of the P5!

UCon did not have a choice in picking their conference because their athletics program in general SUCKS.

101 consecutive wins against horrible basketball teams is nothing to brag about, regardless of who is doing the bragging.
