Not the kind of press...

Guiliani is a joke for a conservative. I strongly believe that the people's vote on Jan. 3rd in Iowa will represent the true conservative. That is by far FDT.

Believe me, I hope Fred wins too, the less I have to worry about the generals, the better.

that's because primaries are all about appealing to the base. If Fred wins the nomination, he'll have to lurch toward the center in order to win with independents and other undecideds.

Yes, it is rather amazing this year, for the first time since I started caring the frontrunner doesn't seem to be trying to appeal to the conservative base. Of course, that's why he is losing ground.

Taxes are a political constant.

There are a lot more pressing issues than taxes.

If we implement hillary's tax plan (particurally raising long term capital gains rates) i'm 100% positive the economy will be in the toilet for the next 10 years. To me there isn't a more important issue.

Taxation straddles many categories:

They are a tool impacting social issues when they encourage or discourage certain behaviors.

They are a tool for political issues when they are used for wealth redistribution.

They are a tool for economic issues when they are viewed as revenue sources in exchange for govt. services.

but in and of themselves, they are an economic issue, correct?

At first I thought that was an insightful post. Then I realized you just wanted to type "tool" as many times as possible.

As a liberal, I am about as objective as it gets when it comes down to who won a Republican debate. Huckabee wiped the floor with Fred Thompson. And believe me, I would just as soon have Thompson win the primary because you would see a Reaganesque win for someone in the generals.

Lsst I heard, the Dems were wanting Huckabee, so pardon me if I don't put much stock in this.

I want you guys to keep talking and falling for the MSM talking points. Please belive all the polls and believe that a liberal President would be good for America. If liberals gain control, spanish will be the official language of the US and a nuke from Iran will be on your doorstep. I could go on and on and on and on.... but I won't. Anyway, please bash Fred as much as possible and talk up the other democratic and "liberal" republican candidates as much as possible. I have no problem serving crow. :good!:

First of all, I could care less about the MSM talking points. I look at the candidates themselves to make my decisions. While you believe whatever the campaign emails give you on talking points, Fred is just horrible in this campaign. I'm not sure how Spanish would become the national language. Keep in mind that two GOP presidents pretty much were the voice of status quo and 'amnesty'.

See what I love about your type is the automatic assumption that those who do not bow to your candidate are liberal democrats. Looking at polls, fundraising, and talking to many in the know, Fred is running the worst campaign he can possibly run. He flopped on his initial building of staff and flopped even worse by announcing on Leno rather than go to NH. When polls show Ron Paul doubles you, you know you seriously screwed up.

Believe what you want. Unless the entire field just completely belly flops and Fred takes his geritol, he's not recovering.

I agree with Fred on most issues, and he's more of a conservative than any of the others, but his campaign is terrible. He has the worst staff know to man I think.
I refuse to listen to any Obama supporter tell me what Republicans stand a chance and which ones dont. While some of them maybe RINO's I'd vote for any of them in a heartbeat over Obama-Sama and Hillary.

And what do you view to be "true conservative values"?
