Now more controversy from Obama's church...

Then you definitely need to look into it.

Obama and Pfleger have a long-standing relationship that dates back more than 20 years.

Obama directed a $225,000 grant to Pfleger's church back in 2001. Pfleger has been contributing to Obama's campaigns for years...and, like Jeremiah Wright, Obama has described Pfleger as a spiritual leader.

Fair enough, although I have to be honest, I have never heard of him. Of course I am sure not too many other people had until today either.

Speaking of Obama's church, some of my African American co-workers and friends do not like what this church is doing. As one of them pointed out they are not helping to make young African American men and women accountable for themselves by deflecting the blame elsewhere when many of the choices they make are the reasons they are "disadvantaged".

Whether anyone likes it or not, African Americans were subjected to hundreds of years of oppression, the only thing that can heal those wounds is time. There are plenty of questionable things that have been said in churches of all kinds (that includes predominately white churches) for years, no one wants to report it until someone is in the position Obama is in.

And I'm sorry if it's unpopular, but based on what I have heard from Clinton and her supporters over the last few months, the things Pfleger said in regards to her weren't terribly off base.

I, to some degree, sympathize with Obama. I've never heard him make a racist statement...never heard him play the race card. He has a few associates, however, that pull the race card often, and at inopportune times. Obama's associations are going to hurt him in the general election.

Rush reported earlier today on a rumor that the R's have a tape of Michelle speaking int he cchurch using the word "whitey" on more than one occasion... he said the rumor is the R's are sitting on it til October. If this is true, Obama can kiss it goodbye... but as of right now, this is nothing more than just a rumor, so I wouldn't get too worked up over it.

The republican talking heads better be careful, because if these rumors start gaining steam and they aren't true, the only thing they succeed in is further energizing the black voters.

They are already voting for him at a staggering rate, exactly how much more energized do they need to be. His problem is not with the black community. So you think Hillary is a white supremacist, married to the first "Black President"?

What is going to happen? Are they going to vote 92/8 Democratic instead of 90/10?

Pfleger has been spanked by Cardinal Francis George of the Chicago Archdiocese.

"The Catholic Church does not endorse political candidates. Consequently, while a priest must speak to political issues that are also moral, he may not endorse candidates nor engage in partisan campaigning.

"Racial issues are both political and moral and are also highly charged. Words can be differently interpreted, but Fr. Pfleger’s remarks about Senator Clinton are both partisan and amount to a personal attack. I regret that deeply.

"To avoid months of turmoil in the church, Fr. Pfleger has promised me that he will not enter into campaigning, will not publicly mention any candidate by name and will abide by the discipline common to all catholic priests."

Given some of the things Pfleger has said in the past, I wonder if he can be taken at his word.

Anyone that admits listening to scum of the earth like Rush either has had or is in desperate need of a full frontal lobotomy.

I saw that too and what struck me above all else was that Pfleger's entire premise was based on the fact that Farrakhan helped him when apparently no one else would.

This is what made Farrakhan a great man and completely innocent of charges of racism, anti-semitism and general dumb-assedness.

in addition to Rush, I listen to Hannity, Levin, John Gibson, Andrew Wilkow and Mike Church (Sirius Patriot 144!).

I balance that out with a couple hours of NPR and about 5 minutes of Alan Colmes.

I'm glad you think I need a lobotomy. I sincerely hope that you're on the boat to Mauritania with Susan Sarandon.

Well, alot of people are going to need their free health care, considering he has some 14 million listeners.

Anybody that has read your posts (not just in the politics forum) knows who needs the lobotomy. I would say more about you, but that would be equal to booing at the Special Olympics.
