Surprise:

"Well, I'm not getting rid of all of health care reform," the former Massachusetts governor said in an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press." "Of course there are a number of things that I like in health care reform that I'm going to put in place. One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage. Two is to assure that the marketplace allows for individuals to have policies that cover their family up to whatever age they might like. I also want individuals to be able to buy insurance, health insurance, on their own as opposed to only being able to get it on a tax advantage basis through their company."

Apparently an aide has clarified some of the things Romney has said, but this is pretty much what I expect from Romney if we are subjected to him for the next 4 years.

Actually, depending on which day you ask him, he likes the individual mandate, too. Or its socialist. Or it was his idea. Or it should be up to the states. Or it should be done by the feds. Or its good. Or its bad.

Or it's still still undefined so everyone changes their opinion daily based on how this thing was passed without knowing all the facts. And it's a tax.

Republicans are morons if they are going to state the health care bill does not have some good things about it. I hope politicians will actually discuss the good things of bills and then show why they voted against it and alternatives to include the good things while making it a much better bill. The reason I didn't care for either convention, especially the Dems, was they go into such extremes. "Republicans are going to deny special needs children health care because they voted down this bill." Do you really believe that?

The problem is not the "good things" about any bill. Its the added crap you don't hear about until the bill is signed and is law.

good things that could have been easily accomplished without some trillion dollar monstrosity that simply another tax on the American people and will end up bankrupting us in the end. Also some things left out in the Dems haste to push through their mandate

I'd be much more concerned if he didn't think there were some good things in it. As PJ says, those good things don't require ACA.

Exactly. There are some good things in the bill. The way the bill is implemented is pure crap. A lot of Republicans when they hear Romney said something was good about it want his head. Both sides are guilty of it, but one that sticks out was where the Republicans voted down a bill that included fair pay for women. The President's twitter was blasting Republicans for not voting for equal pay for women. They didn't tell what was in the rest of the ****ty bill.

K, there are good things in the bill. Let's agree on that. Is one of them assuring that the marketplace allows for individuals to have policies that cover their family up to whatever age they might like? Is one of them ensuring coverage for pre-existing conditions?

I think the Romney supporters are to0 quick to agree, "well yeah there are good things about the bill" without getting into the nitty-gritty of what he actually said.

The ACA was designed from the Romneycare plan. Romney wrote a letter stating he was in favor of ObamaCare.

Why does the conservatives think Romney would govern as a conservative.
His record says otherwise..

I looked at the quote you posted and don't see the problem.

It's all about the mechanism IMO

Romney approves of the very mechanism that the GOP has contended is the greatest federal power grab in 50+ years and is socialist and must be stopped dead in its tracks. He supports that mechanism at the federal level.

As someone who works in the insurance industry, for the life of me I can't figure out what possible objection you could have with either of those concepts as long as an adequate premium is developed and charged.

So just for kicks, what is the absolute age limit you think an insurance company would accept for my kids? 40? 70? Is there no limit?

This is truly out of curiosity, not trying to bait.

Because the government has no business forcing insurance companies to cover everybody that wants health insurance.

His spokesman came out and denounced his position change on the Sunday show.

The guy doesn't have a backbone to save his life. It's really pathetic.
