Now what?

You really think TAMU can beat TX this year?
A&M didn’t suddenly forget how to play football after they soundly beat LSU. I was thoroughly impressed with that win, and I also expected them to get smacked by SCar the following week in Willie B. Their loss to Auburn isn’t all that surprising either; Aubie has lost so many games largely because they give the ball away like a religious sect gives out pamphlets. They didn’t turn the ball over and behold, they beat a top 15 team.

TAMU isn’t a very good team. They’re a pretty good team though, one that can play really well one week and really suspect the next…and vice versa. They’re also a different animal at Kyle Field, and I can’t believe that Elko’s “We’re focused on Texas…I mean Auburn” Freudian slip last week wasn’t indicative of something. They likely were looking ahead, and even if not, they’ll unquestionably have more juice for this game than they’ve had maybe the entire year.

For their part, I just don’t trust Texas. They may well win the SEC and national championships, but at this point, I think it’s just as likely they fall flat on their face. They have zero, repeat, ZERO ranked wins. Their one shot against a top-shelf opponent they got thrashed, in their own stadium no less. They are the Penn State of the SEC until proven otherwise, and I just have this gut feeling they’re going to get exposed (again) at some point.

Beyond TU and A&M themselves, what has this season shown us if not that each week and each game is its own entity? Past is not prologue; each result is part of the tapestry of who a team is, was, and can be. In a competitive league, good teams have bad weeks, bad teams have good weeks, and mediocre teams have both. So yes, I think A&M can beat Texas. In fact I think they will beat Texas, but we’ll see.

I don't see ole Miss getting back in. A lot of losses to unranked teams

Big ten 4 rn
Sec 3 (maybe 4 if anm.wins sec)
Notre dame
Acc 1
Big 12 1
Boise st

That's 11 there. Id think the acc loser has a better shot than ole.miss, no?

Notre dame losing may help but who knows now
I think acc is two now cuz of the chaos of smu and Miami both win next week, I suspect the loser of their championship game is also in as a 10/11 seed they were the big winners of ole Miss and bama losing

Sup Big Dog!!

I have said all season that the #5 seed WITHOUT making the SECG is the best possible outcome for us. Best period.
#5 gets

1st round home game vs Boise st or similar #12 team.

2nd rnd game AT the Big12 Champ....BYU etc. We beat both those teams for sure if we play decent.

That puts us in the final 4 teams on a 4 game winning streak and Nico playing best ball towards end of the season. Dream scenario...literally THE best circumstances possible IMO.

Maybe we can thrash Vandy by a couple TDs and move up to #5....may have to beat them by 21 or more to move up to #5. #6 is great too though!!! Just not quite as good as 5.
I think 6 is our ceiling unless Ohio state or Oregon loses next week. If they both win l, the loser of the bigten cg will most certainly grab the 5 seed they are 1 and 2 rn n. Whomever loses isn't dropping behind us
