Ok,so we have offerd rettig,and rees has commited to the irish,which i dont get cuse hendrix went there,so what does this mean is this offer a sign of the staff thinks we lost scroggins, scroggins knows were hes going and has told the staff,or a backup plan in case we dont get scroggins.:dunno:

I think it means that we need to sign a top QB in this class asap and that we are running out of options. I think Rees was next on the list after Rettig, and with him becoming a domer, CLK/ CEO decided to go ahead and chum the waters.

If we don't get JS or CR, we will be the laughing stock of the SEC. It would be ridiculous, if we cant find a decent QB this year. And not to mention, not even signing a QB the past 2 years.

I see nothing wrong with questioning the lack of QB commits.

ND had 3 terrible seasons in a row on offense and have landed 2 this year and a good one last year.

Dave Clawson landed Nunes and Boyd last year one during the preseason and one during the midst of the worst season since the forward pass.

UT is guaranteeing playing time and they cant still cant land one.
Im not saying trash the coaching staff or go into full panic mode but I think it is reasonable to question why.

just stay away from the mountain west, they are in the way up and will be better than the pac 10 in 3 years.

it can be interpreted as that, but it may not be the case. this coaching staff realizes that we need more than one QB recruit in this class. depth is just a huge concern for 2010. they need to get the offers out there, and not just rely soley on the commit of one player. it was a smart decision IMO, and it likely (if not only temporarily) kept Rettig from committing to BC.

I agree. We can't let the fate of our QB position rest with one kid who doesn't know what he is going to do. Rettig WANTS to be a Vol, so let's bring him on. IMO, not too much of a downfall from Scroggins talent-wise.

who currently holds the title for laughing stock of the SEC? If we dont get scroggins or retting we will take that title away? Are you melting in this heat?

personaly i would rather have rettig-fukk scroggins...then get newton from the JC then start working on 2011....this year sucks at qb anyway. if he is stupid enough to think he is going to play at USC over barkley and others....i dont want him..

OFFFfff course if scroggins commits i will love him and say he is the second coming......but still.....haha

that is my worst fear in this situation. the QBs at south carolina were not exactly all-stars. i just wonder if recruits want to play for him

this makes no sense. you dont want scroggins because he wants to play at USC, his home town school and a powerhouse, and you say he is stupid for thinking he could ever play there.

if rettig got an offer to USC, he would be doing the same thing, maybe even already committed to them. therefore, by your logic, he is stupid, and we dont need him here

it is a cali kid's dream to get a USC offer.

youre the only one that looks stupid in this situation

I agree with the question.. I don't think the question was presented as a knock on Kiff or to question the coaching staff.. It is a valid point..What's next, personally I'm kinda tired of getting snubbed by QBs that several people claim are "Locks" or the now famous "Kiff has him in the bag,he's just a silent commit" ... I think Kiff and the coaching staff are doing great in recruiting, but we need a QB bad for the future and they haven't produced one yet.. I hope we can get Rettig for sure, we need him.. Or maybe Kiff can snap his fingers and the recruits will fall in line. (That was a joke, before everyone unloads on me).... We have a lot of big time receivers waiting to see who our QB is before they make a decision.. I'm just wondering what is going to happen if JS goes to UF.. I may have a heart attack if he does..

You know how it works.. He was the 2nd coming of Peyton when he was "in the bag", but he stinks now that he may go somewhere else.. I agree with you that he is living a dream.. It seem like people could give the kid a break.. To be honest I'm not sure I would want to come here either if I read stuff like that.. He hasn't even commit yet.. I'm sure he isn't afraid to compete again Rettig if he decides to come here.. If he's willing to take on Barkley then I'm sure he would be gald to compete against Rettig too..

I never thought about that...... Crap....They told Chase that he would be offered if JS didn't commit at USC.. Wow that would really be bad if JS went to UF and then Chase went to USC..I would have a heart attack for sure.. :unsure:
