NPR Axes Juan Williams for Muslim comment

Juan did not hold back on O'Reilly last night. He is PISSED!

Did he seriously think the "tolerant" left would accept such a statement? With such vocal bigotry he ought to run for office as someone in the Tea Party. Right LG?

The whole way this was handled seems completely boneheaded for an organization that relies on grants and private donations. It's not very difficult to smell a major rat here.

don't think they aren't pandering to the people who give them the $$$$. i very much doubt many major republican foundations are giving money to npr.

NPR made this a story and their bias has been put on full display. JW is the real winner here, I always liked this guy even though I disagreed with him on some issues.

Soros just wrote them a nice "little" check.....he probably put a couple of "requirements" on it.

Yes but non-partisan orgs do - why just the other day Soros gave them 1.8 million bucks. :whistling:

Not a freedom of speech issue.

I cannot go into my boss' office and tell him why he sucks to work for and that I think he is lazy and expect to keep my job because I'm entitled to free speech.

you can but only if you won the lottery the night before

it is a "you say only what we approve of" issue

Part of the "Faith Based Initiatives" non-sense was that organizations had to agree to not evangelize if they accepted the gov't funds. This is a similar case. If they want to hold a political bias and fire people for it then they need to operate without public funds just like conservative talk radio does.

So what? Fox News is not on the gov't dole. If NPR wants to hold and enforce a liberal slant then I am fine with it. It is their right to be wrong... but not while my taxes pay their bills.

exactly. msnbc doing this is a-ok.

This is for LG from one of his own. I would be willing to bet LG has a poster of Soros on his ceiling above his bed.

This is a comment about the joke of an organization Media Matters and why he decided to give them $1,000,000.

Soros said he decided to support Media Matters after claiming to see evidence suggesting that the "incendiary rhetoric" on Fox News "may incite violence."

He called his unspecified contribution part of "an effort to more widely publicize the challenge Fox News poses to civil and informed discourse in our democracy."

Aren't those pesky Republicans the ones who use the "fear mongering" tactics you always like to speew drivel about?
