I agree - the opinion is definitely in JW's favor on the matter.
Not as much "in JW's favor" as they are against the way that NPR handled this, from the decision to terminate his contract to the way in which he was told and given no opportunity to be heard on it.
This is basically what I meant - not that they agreed with his statement.
The more I hear, the more it seems like ultimately this was about the fact that Williams was regularly on Fox. While I am no fan of Fox, I fail to see why that should be a problem for NPR. Its not like they are competing over the same demographics, right?

no doubt in my mind the heads of npr were incensed he regurally went on the hated fox news. some dems (lg?) can't think even remotely be logical about fox for some reason.
Let me tell you something, you know what? I call NPR National Pentagon Radio. They're no more left wing than Fox News as far as I'm concerned. Look at the commentators they have on there, right? They're all right-wing commentators. I couldn't get in the door of NPR. I'm sure you don't appear on their shows either, right? They lean so far right. The idea that they're part of the liberal media, as if they were. Look, except for MSNBC, these guys control all the media as far as I'm concerned.
i also forgot racism and trying to incite violence.
Not the whole network, just the pit bull/attack dogs like Beck.
I remember back during the Clinton impeachment the GOP used the same tactic. They got a couple of rabid true believers to be the front men, to say all the ridiculous stuff, while they just stood in the background nodding almost imperceptibly. Guys like Bill McCollum here in Florida, who are now viewed as toxic and unelectable.
Same thing already happening to Beck with the backbiting from the jealous co-talking heads on Fox. Soon the rumors will come out. Probably sex or drugs, the old standards. And he'll hang on for awhile, ranting and raving. But fade into oblivion while the old guard count the contribution checks he fired people up into writing.
please explain specifically what you see as the difference between beck and olberman? except the part that beck is far more interesting and watchable that is.
"Olbermann is just wicked smart."
next time you tell me you aren't a liberal i'm going to quote this. Hell I think i might make it my sig.
and I would love an example of beck saying the black man is taking over.
